When do the Ultima Online shards go down for maintenance?

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]The Ultima Online servers are constantly in the process of "backing up" the game. It takes about 45 to 90 minutes for each cycle to complete, though the length of time this takes depends greatly on the amount of data that is stored in each world.
The daily maintenance period will start at the first completed backup cycle after the maintenance window begins. For example, if all things were perfect, the backup would end at 5:00am, and the server would go down for maintenance at this time as well. However, if the server is in the middle of a backup at 5:00am, it will continue that backup to the end, and then go down for maintenance. Due to this factor of uncontrolled variability in the backup cycles, the downtime will not happen at exactly 5:00am each day.[/FONT]

um ... I take it you've never been an event?
this round seems just a bit too regimented, Maple..... and too few
my guild has a couple of people that weren't around for the original cloak catch, and just six a day (with it heavily camped cause it doesn't move and the times are strict) leaves a few of us with *sigh*

Well, I haven't logged in for anything but GGS and the IDOC event in the past week or so, so I guess I have no right to lecture 
And since a mage or archer obviously won't outdamage the tamers and Greaters...seems kinda pointless to even fool with it...

Nope. Never. I log into the game and everything is in my bank box or back pack already. Oh wait thats test center forgive me.
Confirmed this morning and yesterday, 5ish EST when shard comes up and 5ish EST afternoon - Just when people are getting up for work and when they are just getting off from work
Ur - a mage can compete with Tamers. I've done 3 so far with 2-3 Great Dragons present an d got a Cloak each time. I cast 2 EV's and a Naure's Fury and Wind spell if my mana allows...
And Dev - all the Alliance members who need one will get a Cloak, I have my three and the rest will be distributed amongst the Alliance. I am on sabbatical so I can log on at "shard-break" ...
