Do healing pets lose their healing?

Do oddball healing pets (lion, triceratops, sabretooth) ever lose their healing? If so, how?
o by dying / resurrection?
o by release / retame?
o by um er running out of internal bandages?

If I asked this question before, sorry, I forgotted it.

If healing is on the lore screen after taming they will not lose it.
