Do gypsies still drop moonstone jewellery?

Slaughtering gypsies isn't much fun; it's repetitive and, although they're just pixels, it still makes me feel like a horrible person! Unfortunately, I really need money, and if everybody else is having as much trouble as I am getting hold of moonstone bracelets, just one jewellery drop will keep my characters fed for YEARS.

So, are they still dropping? I've killed about eight hundred in total (I am not proud), with approximately equal numbers in Felucca and Trammel. The character doing the killing has 0 luck; should I be looking to get more?

I haven't heard much on the gypsy front for a few months now, and was wondering if the dev team had maybe quietly canned the mechanic.

(note: I am still getting plates of cookies and huge amounts of reagents; I also got 78 star sapphires off one corpse.)

I think they put the moonstone bracelets on gypsies because there's going to be some sort of weird plotline thing happening with the moongates and the facets. Hence, the Ricardo thing with the mysterious erased Felucca; I predict it'll be something to do with the old people of Ilshenar, who had an unspecified way with moongates, and now survive only as gypsies, hence the moonstones. But that's just my wild mass guessing.

And they could have chosen a better race to encourage the wholesale slaughter of, but that point has been beaten on UHall before and I won't go into further discussion of it here to avoid the thread being locked.

Never seen one for sale, never seen one in a museum...

I've never seen one in-game either. The only post I could find on the Rares forum was this one:

That somebody would be me. I still have that moonstone bracelet, since the rares community was adamant that we'd be swimming in moonstone jewelry by now...

Feel free to believe that I actually own and have it, or not. I've shown it to multiple people, but I'm not going to invite a slew of people over to have a looksee, am too busy digging up t-maps

Oh hi, both of you! Thanks for your posts. It's good to know that there is still moonstone stuff on the market, so it's probably still dropping; not much consolation for the families and friends of the thousand-odd gypsies I've done away with, but at least they're not real.

LeBaiton; I'm aware that my original post may have sounded overly skeptical, but I definitely believe that you have the jewellery. Now I re-read what I posted, it sounds like I'm calling you a scammer; that was unintended on my part! Thank you for speaking up on this thread, I really appreciate it.

Also, one thing I can say is, we're definitely not swimming in moonstone jewellery! I have no idea what the drop rate on these things is, but one thing's for sure - they're incredibly rare.

For what they are rare is a good thing. There is enough gimmi items in the game as it is.

And the way some plp have Tangles to sell every day there is another fail.

But the no info & way to get the queens armor that was a classic let me hook my buddies up with some cool stuff BS. The way the armor was handled it needs to Monked and put on NPC vendors or removed. Duped goods have been better distrubuted.

A friend and I have been searching for these also and after killing more gypsies than I we can count, we still don't have any. The rarity is very very high, and the Devs have said there are items we no one has seen yet. Perhaps we need to petition the Gypsy King to have more put into production?

Now something intriguing is a brass ring with no stats that was found at Brit Bank on Catskills, its simply called "brass ring". I can't find any details on this item anywhere.

Thanks for the tip gonna look into it. Thought it was a cool ring not made out of a mineable ore. Not being rare is cool, I just like to know the story behind unique items that turn up.

Ok, I took some time off and missed the starting of all this. However after reading this thread I started killing. Then I came back and read some more. Now after my mousing hand has cramped up from killing and looting, and my eyes are in major need of some drops I still have a question. Have there been more then just the single bracelet and set of ear rings found? I am assuming this isnt a single shard event (didnt see that mentioned or complained about anywhere) but since I am getting larger numbers of gems and regs (no checks) I am also going to assume that this is still an on-going "event". If I am correct with my assumptions I have a hard time believing that those are the only 2 items found. Additional info anyone please!
