The latest plans for World of Warcraft have been unveiled by the development team in a post on the forums.

Upcoming changes and additions include:

* The Ruby Sanctum is a new 10 and 25-player raid dungeon in development and focuses on an assault on the Red Dragonflight.
* New quests and an event as part of the Gnomes bid to regain their home of Gnomeregan which will result in a new starting zone.
* In the same vein, Trolls will have new quests and an event to aid Vol'jin (leader of the trolls) in regaining the Echo Isles which will result in another new starting zone.
* Blizzard will be upgrading database hardware before Cataclysm is released to ensure they can fully support the expansion.

Some of the upcoming changes in the Cataclysm expansion were also listed:

* Goblins will join the Horde and Worgen will join the Alliance as the two new races. Each race starts in their own unique zone.
* Much of the landscape of Azeroth will be changed and new high-level content is being added to Mount Hyjal, Vashj’ir and other areas.
