Discord Not Working On New Instrument?

Hello,
My friend's discordance stopped giving him the targeting cursor when he uses discordance. Not sure what happened, but his old instrument ran out of uses, then it said something like "forever silent", went to buy a new instrument at the carpenter shop and now, the successful attempt tune plays, but there is no targeting cursor. He tried all the different instruments that were at the carpenter, and none work any more. The music and discordance skills are natural 120's. Is there a glitch, or is he missing something?

Does it happens inside some macro?
Try drag new skill icon to hot bar.
Did your friend double clicked new instrument so it will be new active one?
Is there anything in macro that reference old dissapeared instrument?
Try to relogin.

If he's using a macro has he added the new instrument to the macro? Is he using the same instrument type? Facing the same way?

He doesn't have it on a macro, just double clicks the instrument when needed. He also tried to log off and then on again, and also rebooted his computer, but nothing seems to work. Maybe some glitch?

Just double clicking the instrument will only make it play - how would the game know whether he wants to use disco, peace or provo by doing that He needs to do 'use skill, discordance' either in a macro or by clicking on the skill icon on the desktop.

OH! LOL! Thank you everyone for your help! He forgot that he had to use the discord skill. DUH! senior moment, I guess.
