Disarm spell books

They are gonna allow dexxers to disarm spellbooks, not that big of a deal but are they going to make it so you can Disarm/Rearm your spellbook via macros? I mean you can do it through UOA but that sucks and always gives a message "you are to busy to do that" or something, Are they gonna make it so you can rearm it like you can rearm a weapon through the UO client macros and not UOA?

PS this is not a crying thread, so please spare me with your useless posts, THX!

Yes. I have been doing it for a while with macros. It's either disarm/arm left or disarm/arm right

I bet LRC books will drop in price
Most normal spellbooks with LRC won't sell for that much as is. I usually "donate" all but the best books to the library. I also don't see this hurting LRC Scrappers since there is a PvM demand for that item. Also, the warfork, a good disarm weapon, has bleed which is already a bane for casters (messes up casting AND does damage). If you are disarming a mage's book on the off chance you will kill their lower reagent for a few seconds, you aren't doing as much damage. I can also see mages with such a problem carrying a few loose reagents for such situations. How much does 10 of each reagent cost?

yeah and you get that message "you must wait to preform another action" for like 3 seconds, They can't just make a macro that goes as fast as the Equip last weapon macro? No delay on that.

Although you can arm/disarm, what mages really need is equiplastspellbook

Uhh when they get disarmed..... God did u even read my post?
Umm... he was suggesting that mages should have an "EquipLastSpellbook", which I would assume would be the equivalent for "EquipLastWeapon", but for spellbooks only.

Which is exactly what you're asking for.
Did you even read his post?

its only fair, warriors can be disarmed and stand there getting hit on, why cant mages.

atleast with mages you dont have to hold the book to cast spells.. i think it would be nice to add that..

i cant use my bow while its in my pack..

Disarming a spellbook doesn't make any difference to how much or little the mage gets hit.

You talk about fair? Where is wrestlings HLA glasses? Or books that do 20-40 damage? Or hit spell that auto fires? You people wouldn't know fair if it farted in your face.

Its funny but 80% of our charactors do not carry a spell book in hand, the ones that do are crafters, if there is one or two that do carry the book then they not the ones we use for PvP anyway. Most of our PvP is on archers or swords, don't use a mage, but hey now we can disarm that mage tossing the ebolts at us :)

As long as the uo macro that's arm/disarm left or right hand functions correctly after your spellbook gets disarmed it will be fine. Currently to use that macro to ARM a spellbook you 1st have to of DISARMED the spellbook using the macro... After that point you hit the macro and it arms / disarms.. but you cannot just re-arm a spellbook without first having using the macro to disarm it. Since you could never have a spellbook Disarmed via a weapon before I'm curious how the current uo arm/disarm macro will work. If I take my scrappers & hit my arm/disarm macro to take it off then put it back on so that macro will function and then I get disarmed via a weapon I hope that the macro will allow me to one button Re-arm... if not that will suck

other than that.. the whole point in Disarm is usually the lose of any defense.. and with spellbooks / wrestling you don't get that. only a temporarly casting penalty (1/1 on scrappers) or Loss of LRC at best.. so I dont think many will be doing it.. it's just not as effective...

since they are making this change, they should also make it so "equip last weapon" works with spellbooks also since they are being TREATED as a WEAPON...

Indeed. This is most likely a little detail that they felt like putting in. If it were truly an issue with people we would see posts with people complaining about it. You can already disarm books with wrestling I do believe? I think I have done this before to steal one of those scrappers if i remember correctly. (If not scrappers than one of the other books that are not actually blessed)

Yeah thats what I mean, I use lrc on my spell book, Not that big of a deal that it gets disarmed but If it is a hassle to rearm it then it's a bit annoying
