Disappearing t chest loot?

How often does this happen (EC Pinco's)?
Doing an L7 chest, spent 30 minutes killing Ilsh spawn, opened chest, hit search and all the loot disappeared out of the chest. Chest still there. Restarted, still empty

I would guess it took you too long to kill the spawn... I think the decay timer is fairly short now days (@45 minutes). Could be wrong.

Wouldn't the whole chest disappear and not just the loot?
Edit: Answered - apparently loot disappears before chest

This happened to me early last month. I use the EC without Pincos and it was also a Lvl 7 in Ilsh (on Cats). I posted the particulars in the T-Hunter/Fishing forum and it seems to be an uncommon occurrence.

I think the chest itself works differently since it can't be picked up. (You drop them via the chest context menu).

I"m guessing it has something to do with the MUCH shorter decay rate of all items.

Ive had this happen on a lower level t-6 chest and a few mobs one day. In my instance the chest was still full/same as the mobs, but they didn't appear in grid view. However the chest would populate in list view. Either way that sucks .

Thanks for the link. Yes, my experience was exactly like Bunny Slayer. 45 minutes seems too fast for chest contents to disappear.
