Different PvP Template

Hello all,

I am new to theese forums and I have registered to ask you a question. I am pretty new to Ultima Online and like in all games, I play a mage. I play a Pure Mage (as I like to call it) - Magery, Meditation, Eval. Int., Wrestling, Focus, Ressist Spells. My plans are to have 120 in all of theese skills.

My question is not about skills, it's about style and gear.
Would it be insane, redundant or just not effective to set up a kind of "tank mage"? Load up with DCI, 70's all resist, 2/6 casting, 15% SDI?

Would I have a chance against any class? Would it be worthless to PvP with this build?

Stats: 100/15/110.

Thank you all in advance.

Remove focus... put on parry... then you have the template I run(more or less) I think the general consensus is focus is a waste of skill points.

Your "suit" is basically what I run.

I can survive with the parry mage template "basic" dci suit against dexers somewhat. OTOH, I'm a meat shield PvPer so that does say something about the template:thumbsup:

Also, FWIW, I'm converting wrestling to 100 anat on my template. With not being able to "special move queue" and my timing sucks so I don't get any disarms off:coco: Again, another general consensus thing:dunce:

Or instead of taking parrying pick up inscription. It's a choice between higher damage & lesser survivability or lesser damage & higher survivability. I'd go for the first ;)

theres several better options than focus.

if your new to UO i think parry is your best bet. Once you get used to it theres a few better IMO templates to play with.

the reason i say parry for a new char is becouse it will be a large increase in survivabilty esp against dexxers and take some of the pain of timing your spells bewteen swings out of the equation
