i wonder why we have to ask to make items stackable after each new item they release. by now they should be aware of this, shouldn't they?

MAKE THE DARN OBJECTS STACK FROM DAY ONE!!!!!!!!

Please print this post and hang it in your cubicles for future reference. And while you're at it print/copy some for your neighbors. And make a note of how well your printer/copier stacks the copies for you!!

Devs, please don't make them stackable unless you can fix the exploit with stacked items. The rare colors of the pies would allow those selling these items a very easy way to convince people they are event items and rare. These items are a battle I've been fighting for awhile to help protect folks from being scammed... this exploit has been around for years and it makes me almost cringe when we get new content as it almost always means new items that I have to test and try to let people know before they start hitting the vendors. I personally have no problem with people owning them for decor, but when they are sold under the false notion that they are rare, event items and/or server births then it becomes a problem in my opinion.

For those unaware of these items, please take the time to look before buying any unfamiliar items from vendors.

I don't see what this has to do with mento's, seasoning or fish pies.
The fish pies clearly state they are fish pies with for each a discription of what effect they have...
I don't wish to put of stacking these just because people DO NOT READ ...

I think the exploit they refer to removes the title/description of the item so people won't necessarily know that what they're buying is actually a fish pie or ingredient.

That is exactly what it does. It actually changes the name of the item and in some cases the name it changes it to can often be confused with a real existing rare such as pumice, winch, etc. Compound this with the fact many of the sellers of these items describe them as true rares, server births, event items, etc and you have a perfect formula for folks losing gold.

Sometimes the effect of this exploit is far more devastating... in the case of pumice, there is -no- difference either in graphic or name between the created 'pumice' and the real original necro reagent. In that particular instance, that rare that has been around a very long time has been ruined.

I would love to see the pies and cooking ingredients stacked... I just hate to see it happen while this exploit is still working. I know it has been around for years and the chances of it being fixed are probably not very good. With the pie event items like Mesanna's Cream Pies, Blood Pies, etc... having a flood of renamed glacial pies is just asking for a headache for those of us doing what we can to educate and protect the community from buying something that isn't the rare they think it is.

Ahhh ... ok ... understood ...
I apologize for my reaction then.

I myself am not into this rares stuff, so I guess I never got confronted with this scam.

But if this has been around for so long ... and still not fixed ... I best not hold my breath on this.

I still plea to have these items stacked ... :D

Yeah devs, please don't fix irritating basic usability issues, we need to protect some rares crap 99 out of 100 UO players know nothing about.

I for one don't think that the danger of some dummy buying a blue pie for 20 million is of more importance than these new items being used.

I never really though that this exploit was a very big deal. Anyone buying rares, and having the money to spend on rares should know that miscolored items with regular names are just a result of this bug.

Fix it, yes absolutly. But to keep a new object basically unused... not worth it.

Bumping this puppy because I set out to make some pies, and it is a royal pain in the arse. Along with the new items the bowls of peas, etc... Really all the cooking ingredients could use a looking at. Ginger is such a pain to have scattered everywhere in your pack.

#1) she is correct, people exploit stacked items at present.
#2) these consumables are insurable, if they become stackable insurability goes out the window.

So no, regardless of your reasoning or thought process...this is a bad idea.

I agree and I add to the list also the 4 types of small mess of fish.

Even better, make also their cut up steaks be stackable in the 4 types so that they are ready to be carried and eaten by the user without having to clog one's own backpack.

99.9% of your ideas suck...period. Then again, every squirrel gets the nut now and again.

I guess if the issue is with "pies" and not the ingredients I can certainly live without the end product being stackable. But I always hate the rationale that you can't have something because some people cheat.

The number of trips I had to make to the fish market to make some pies was silly. Because the seasonings don't stack, bowls of vegies don't stack, the wine doesn't stack. And the crab meat doesn't stack. I'm using 2 secures just to make some pies. Why am I making pies? Because I have all these baits and fish and seems like I should get some use out of the hundreds of quests I have done.

And it's only gonna get worse when I start adding more types of rare fish into the mix. It's like 16 different types of pies, many with multiple ingredients that don't stack. That's just silly.

all right...just remember...if this stuff becomes stackable...it will no longer be insurable. i understand that people in trammel could care less about insurable pies in trammel...but these things sure come in useful being insurable in fel. so, perhaps give the fel players a break and deal with it?
