Dev's any chance of replacements?

Weeks ago you had to pull the spawning of npc's on all shards due to the loss of items by the respawning of Tents and npc's. Many of us lost rares, carpets, and furnature from tokens. All of which many were hoping you would do same as the Rubble replacement in Mag. I called a GM to help redeed carpets that are now missing chunks but got the royal run around canned message. You can even see the dropped parts under the house! If you axe them you get no deed. I lost 3 chests full of Rare items in my museum!

If WoW can do it why cant UO? You know it happened, players didnt imagine it. And we dont want free handouts.. just the items returned or replaced. I think its time you reinstate that back in game.... its only a few pixels... and it might keep folks from leaving when they loose their most prized posessions.

I believe WoW has the ability to track items built in at its core, meaning they can restore items with a minimum of risk of the replacement being some sort of scam.
UO has very limited tracking, if any at all.
The loss of rubble has a very limited footprint, being contained within Magincia, and being a specific identifiable type of item, and in a specific timeframe. then, they had lists supplied by the players to cross-reference with. Even then it probably wasn't easy.

Fairly, all items lost to bugs or circumstances completely outside of the player's control should be replaced. But it is likely impossible.

May not be a possibility. Seems like a worthwhile request, though. Our rares collectors are an important element of our community.

But it is likely impossible.
Date they poofed, coords, where/what the items were - they could run a backup on their in-house sandbox and check, then restore/replace to the live shard. It'd take awhile, but yeah, some problems are like that. I don't see it as unreasonable to have the items returned, in that circumstance. We'll just have to see if they do the right thing, or even respond. It IS possible, but

The devs could not be sure that none of the items that are claimed lost, or otherwise seem lost, hadn't been sold without checking every item for whether it exists on the shard (which I doubt is an easy feat). Even if they could, that would fall down if the item had been transferred to another shard, or somesuch.

Although, impossible was perhaps too strong a term to use.
Infeasible would be better, since every claim would require a very specific backup be loaded, and every item checked.

I am not worried bout my items... rather the hundreds of players who were hit by this error on the programmers side. It is quite clear that the reinstatement of the spawns were the cause of many players to loose items and have carpets lost or put in a state of undeedability many with only scraps left behind to note they exsisted at all.

My rares that came up missing I do know what was in the boxes, all can be replaced in time and I will do this at my own expence.

Though I can explain that the system for UO had over 6 months of back up of the game on file. This is kept for use by the dev for things like Test center and I know this for fact.
The only thing is they cant see what has been removed from shard after that last save... leading to players scamming for items they ether sold, or transfered off shard. I do understand the rares being suspect.... but carpet, from heratage tokens?? Plants? IDK Perhaps players will missuse replacements.

These other games bind items to your account or char. These are easy to track and replace. You can use the char-ID as a prefix for an item-id and stuff like that.

In UO, I suppose there is a unique item-id to stop dupes(?). Haha, well I guess not. Or not one that functions properly.

So, without this technology, it would be impossible to track items.

This is an issue. I know of two guildmates who quit this game over this very issue. Still no satisfaction to this day.

UO needs to step up and compete. The next generation of these games is going to leave UO in the dust.
