Despise Rules

Last night me and a friend went down to do some of the new content in Despise. We both have negative karma so we grab a red pet and take it up stairs to train. There are three other people down there but they have good Karma and have blue pets. So the battle begins between good and evil to see who has the stronger army and which ever is the stronger army get the call to arms.

Well we got our buts handed back to us numerous times before the Good side won and went into the champ without us. Fine no big deal it gives us a chance to work our red pets up before the next call to arms. So by the time the good karma guys come back after finishing Andros we have level 10 pets good to go. But only 2 of them. The good guys have 3 pets and are in with a chance of having a stronger army than us. So the battle of Good v Evil commences again. This time we win and a few of the good karma pets are left for dead and we go into the champ. Great!

Once were finished we come around again for another go at it. But now there is only one good Karma guy down there with a high level pet. So we get our red pets and start training them up. the lad who has a good karma pet trys to kill our red pets with his blue pet and does so a few times. No worries we tame more and get going training again.

Quite soon we manage to kill the good karma pet and we now have the upper hand. The lad with the blue pet keeps trying to kill our red pets, but fails every time and even dies to our red pets while trying to get our pets killed.

After a short while the lad who is trying to train the blue pets tells us we are harassing him and he is calling a GM. We were like yeah, yeah call a GM.

15 mins latter up pops a GM and he ask us not to harass this lad and let him play. We explain the situation to him and the rules of the dungeon, which were sure he knew anyway. But this was not good enough as we are stopping this lad from playing apparently. But after having a verbal go at us, he then says no action will be taken this time and off he goes.

How the hell can a GM be called out to people who are just playing the game as its meant to be played. What's even more worse is that the GM wasted his time to come and talk to us.

If they don't know/understand the rules of the new content what chance do we have?

hmm, this wasn't quite working as intended.
First - if you have bad karma, don't take a bad karma pet, take a good one and turn it bad - you'll get a higher level that way. level 15 instead of level 10.
Second - In theory at least, if you're bad karma you should be on the top level killing good karma creatures (old lizardman area). If you're good karma you should be on the lower level killing bad karma creatures (old ettin/earth ele area). You're not really intended to kill each other's pets. This is not a pvp dungeon.

The Devs made the pets aggressive to opposing karma players and monsters. They have also not addressed all the ways that players can grief other players in there from using field spells, area effect spells/weapons and discoing pets. It is easy to understand how someone new to Despise could think this was intended.

A level 15 pet hits no harder than a level 10 pet when at the boss. Were not doing PvP, were playing the dungeon as we thought it should be played Good V Evil. So if i take a bad karma pet i can levelit up faster than doing a good karma pet and turning it nasty. But either way the two sides are going to attack each other, and that the way it need to be for one army to win access to the boss. Only the stronger army gets to go in. So the way i see it, yeah you are meant to kill the other sides pets, so that your army can win and go into the champ.

I may be wrong, but if the devs did'nt want the pets to fight each other they would have made it so they coulndt. am i worng?

It is my belief that you are mistaken in the purpose of the dungeon. That good and evil characters should not be on the same level of the dungeon when levelling their pets and that you should not be preventing other players from levelling pets. That makes a pvp scenario which is not what is supposed to be happening. I could be wrong of course, but I don't think I am.

Winker - a level 15 pets does hit harder and has more HP than a 10 - also if you are leveling up as a Negative Karma Player your training grounds are the upper Level with the Blue Monster. If you are running around in the Lower Level on a high level Red monster yes you can gain more points per kill if you kill a "Player, already conscripted" blue monster, BUT that is griefing. You are not playing in the intent of the Dungeon and are, for lack of better words, "grievfng". Petra has it right and a Mod even backs her up. Sadly you already knew this. And if you attack my pet I will gladly cast direct spells on your pet as I can aid in the damage my pet is doing to yours.

It sounds to me like the OP had his red pet on the upper level... a red pet will not attack other red pet so how else would you train it to level 10 or 15?

Your right i am on a red pet, and i am training it upstairs. I am not griefing anyone. When my red pet attacks a blue player up the stair in blue monter area its not my fault. This is the point im getting at. Thank you for agreeing with me.

I am not running around down stair with a high level pet killing anyone. But i do sit down stairs and wait for the call to arms where its safe for me to do so. Then i get blue players attacking me and my pet due to the Karma change and my red pet attacks player with high Karma even when its set to defencive.

Edit: and if you try casting spells on my pet you just end up killing yourself see the patch notes on players trying to kill another players pet

it says in the patch notes:

"Eventually each convinced the Wisps to conjure an army with which to destroy the other."

So even the patch notes say thats is ok to kill the othersides army.

Just saying

I´ve not followed the new Despise changes so this might be a ignorant question but why are the "tamed" pets coded to attack each other if it´s not allowed?

its been nothing short of a grief fest at least on chessy. you got a small group of guys that camp the area and immediately kill your pet as soon as you link to it. nothing about good vs evil and the spirit of the game. their just down there getting their jollies off.

If you were paged on and told to stop, then I guess you were wrong and should stop.

This is your second thread about Despise. The first was you complaining about people duel clienting and how YOU thought it was illegal.
Now you have a thread talking about your actions and have stated that a GM told you to stop, so I guess you actually ended up being the one doing something illegal.

I can start as many threads as i like on any topic i choose.

The GM did not say stop it! He asked...ASKED if we would let him play. We told him our side of the story and he left saying he was not taking any action as he could not see us doing anything wrong. We told the GM we were more than happy to let him play, if he changed sides and plays a character with negative Karama.

Funny thing was the person who complained was happy enough killing our pets and killing us when there was three of them there on blue pets. He was so happy he was taunting us on General chat.

Edit: Im more than happy people allow Multi clienting. I now use all 4 accounts down there! Reverse physiology ;)
