Designing A Secure Home

I currently reside right outside the guard zone at Yew gate, Felucca. I am having trouble with people being able to cast poison fields (not a problem) and animated weapons (an annoyance to my crafter) inside the house. I haven't missed any wall tiles, and the middle floor where my crafter does most of her work is completely sealed off. Could someone perhaps give me some pointers on building a more secure home? I would like to be able to craft in as much peace as possible given the rough neighborhood.

Hrm, if it was bigger I'd suggest doing double walls. But as it is you want to conserve your space. What I did when I lived in fel (and still do this out of habit) is have hiding macros on all my characters. So just hide when you craft, it's a 100% success rate in your own home.

Hehe, I have a hiding macro on all my characters because of the 100% house hide. On a side note, do you still get the hiding buff when you try to hide right next to a house?

Lay down the new carpet tiles you cannot cast spells like animated weapon, and evs. Any summoning spell you need to target the ground with. When you do you the message that location is blocked.

I do hide on my crafter but I've also had problems with being revealed. It's such a high traffic area and some people just live to annoy.

This I didn't know, a very useful piece of information for people with this problem.

the back open space in your house should be closed. I know you think it's slick and you can fight from your home but as your house is now. I could kill you with purple potions at any tile in the first floor of your home.

Oh and it's in really poor taste to design a house to be fought from... you're better off removing the side door too and opting for safety over what you perceive as fighting ability.

Considering the lack of safety on the two upper floors - including the completely sealed second floor - I don't consider the bottom floor to be a priority.

The top floor should be sealed with tall walls. Double them up when it comes to the roof or fill those locations so they're blocked.

you shouldn't be able to. In all honesty, you really chose to sacrifice your ability to do things in your small home without being in hide when you chose to be right next to yew gate...

Well it was a secondary house originally, but I had to close out one account and drop the nice remote 18x18 I had since it was the least valuable real estate of the two. The problems I'm having are minor annoyances at best, but I'd like to be able to minimize them while I train up a new crafter (my old one was on the closed account). Most crafting skills can be trained while hidden, but imbuing won't allow you to hide while using the skill and that's what I'm working on now.

You should be able to place goza mats there. I logged on today place a few goza mats cast animated weapon, and targeted the gozas, I got the same message that I got for casting on the carpet location blocked.

Also you do not have to be on the same floor your soulforge is, for you to work your skill. You can be on the floor above or below it all you need to be is near the soulforge.

Thanks, I laid down the goza mats (as well as an attractive red carpet, I had no idea that those carpets were in game!)... my trouble making friend hasn't come around to annoy me yet, but just give him time. Hopefully this will allow me to craft in peace!

you can goza chop your soulforge down to one pillar also to save on internal real estate. i know the 1x1 southeast pillar works, i havent tested with others.

whats the best way being able to block off the wall on a keep? ive heard use rubble but i havent been able to find enough of it, plus its all mismatched and looks like doggy doo
