exactly how does one do it? I've been PvM for like 10 years, and I've always wondered what PvP was like, but I've no idea how to start. I couldn't very well just walk up to some guy and kill him, I'd feel bad.
85%? where the heck do you play....Now is a very bad time (good time if your a big noob?) to attempt to pvp. 85% of the pvpers are tamers of some sort. So its some form of Dismount (special move or bola) and all kill. Its kinda lame, but maybe with SA it'll change the dragons or something to make pvp a little more enjoyable.
Best thing I can tell you is, attempt to make friends with someone who knows some about pvp and practice fighting/dueling them for a while. Maybe by time you get the hang of it; UO will of changed the pets![]()
Yeah, that's what I was gonna say.Cloak‡1310122 said:85%? where the heck do you play....
HeheeheI couldn't very well just walk up to some guy and kill him, I'd feel bad.
nailed it on the head. good adviceFor a new pvper if its possible join a zerg guild.
Zerg guilds are more friendly toward the average joes.
There are basically 3 type of guilds in fel.
1. Zerg guild. A lot of players trammies or whatever in a big group. Little skill need to survive if you dont leave your friends.
2. Elitism guild. Often a small group and often solo with exceptional 1v1 or 1vmany skill. Knows pvp inside and out. But these guilds dont usually accept noobs and whoever is lacking in pvp skill. Many of them also has tryouts of you want to get in.
3. Blue misc. guilds. They just gatefight with gzone and other blues that are there not in zerg/elite guild. They are usually the casuals but they are usually heavily dependent to their numbers(just like zerg guilds) and a guardzone. So other guilds cant sync an attack with chars that arent flagged by them.
Usually zerg guild controls shard better with elites trying to take them out undernumbered.
If you are going to learn pvp, go for a blue guild and learn from there. If your gold is to get loots then zerg guild. You will probably win alot in a zerg guild but you will stay noobish in pvp most likely. You will not be able to get into an elite guild unless you got connections but if you did you will get zerged a lot by all the noobies in a zerg guild.
So find a guild that fits you.
Seems like you dont play a mage.No skill or practice needed. Just strap on a sick balanced crossbow and spam mortal/concussion while hugging the gate. As soon as your bar goes below half just chug and run offscreen to heal. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I have been doing it for years and am way ahead in the insurance column
If you prefer to play a caster just make a necro with a nice lrc suit and do basically the same. Except that as a necro you will run off the screen BEFORE you take damage(kinda the reverse of the Archer)so that you can precast all your curses.
Ohh and as a caster you must be able to spam all the cool elitist Mage phrases such as "yeah u chased me 10 screens and killed me 5 times today on my Mage but I am still better then u cuz I am a Mage and u r just a crappy Archer"
It's weird but Mages seem to be the only class I know of in Felucca that get regularly owned but still claim pvp superiority.
It seems that the more keys/macros you mash=the less insurance gold you receive![]()
I would really disagree.you can always see if theres an rp pvp guild on your shard. some of the best pvpers ive met on atl have been rpers.
Chessy & LS, but LS isnt nothing compared to Chessy. Make a newb char and run around chessy. You'll seeCloak‡1310122 said:85%? where the heck do you play....
well of course! you dont know who i know!I would really disagree.you can always see if theres an rp pvp guild on your shard. some of the best pvpers ive met on atl have been rpers.
It is really shameful to self promote..As an Atlantic player, and a better one at that, most of the best players on shard barely even speak in game. I haven't seen a talented RPer in many years let alone one that could pvp at the high end of the spectrum.
