Decorating a Keep

Hello everyone! I have been asked to to help decorate a keep. I have never done one before! I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to share some of their decorating ideas for keeps (with pics). I can't go crazy with lockdowns because he will be using it mainly for storage, but I still want it to look good!

So, anyone willing to share?

If lockdowns are an issue, you will want to think gozas & other add-ons, including Heritage items, with a few item built things to pull things together. Add-ons do not take away from the total lockdowns available in the house. (I believe the only exception are the ML furniture deeds that become containers when placed)

A keep has a LOT of bleak gray stone, so breaking up the monochrome monotony into pleasing/contrasting sections is generally a good way to go. I would advise using actual secure containers as part of the deco, that way you will be making your storage functional as well as decorative.

The pics above are a good example of this...heavy use of items that are add-ons, and they have really broken up that slab o' gray.

Many of the examples are very lockdown intensive, some extremely so, but you should get some good ideas from there and be able to adapt them for your situation.

Thank you dragon mist for the pics! I really like the stepping stones in the front of the keep. I live on Siege, so there aren't very many public keeps!

Lock downs are really not an issue right now. The bigger issue I have is using what's available to me. I don't have vet rewards, or any other "rewards" such as the anniversary items to use. I need to be creative with what I can craft and acquire inexpensively. Getting plants is even an issue right now on Siege!

Skylark, I may have a deco emergency!!

For mostly item built ideas, check out this thread in which I am attempting to collect examples of creative "snippets" in decoration. The link in the castle/keep thread to Castles & Courtyards has some wonderful tutorials as well. It has been my experience that when I go poking around in those places, I get some new ideas of my own or at the least some inspiration to "modify" the examples to fit what I am working on at the time.

I was just looking at the pics Dragon Mist posted and noticed something. Do I need a ladder to get up to each rooftop? In other words, do I need 5 ladders?? Can I have one ladder, say....leading up to the center part of the roof, and then teleport to the other "tower" roofs?

You can have one ladder and just move it to wherever you want to use it next =) Just use an axe on it to re-deed it, then use it on each other spot =)
