I've needed the same ones for Months and months. The one "rare" one I get is always the same (or 1 of a particular3). I've seen full box's for sale, so I know they do spawn. If it's 1/1000 chance, it'd be nice to know, so I can scrap it or not.
Just wondering how are others doing collecting all their gears?

go down here, memorize the locations, and do this quest, the dirty gear that's the reward is completely random from ALL rarities, meaning a rare gear is no more rare here than a normal one (though there are fewer of them). Once you get the quest down you can do the entire thing in about 30-45 seconds per, your fingers would get tired but you can easily get 60+ gears a hour or all rarities, you'll get a LOT of duplicates (I was giving them out to other people, along with the tinker book he gives as a reward)

There is ONE gear that was only available during a quest in 2007 though, "The Wanderer", that one you'd have to buy from someone to get, but all the other rare ones you can get easily with this method.

Thanks Raptor85, I tried the quest, unfortunately w/ the stroke I had, memory is kinda flaky (takes me about 10 tries per instance, min). If Sutex was Nearby, I'd keep trying - they can leash mobs, just not him it appears.
Mostly I get them from golems, and SA mobs (renowns, goblins, wolves)
I have an extra of the wanderer so I'm good there.

Easily 60+ per hour? Sometimes I wonder if those kind of utter BS are meant with a hidden agenda or if some players are so much living in the game that they have lost all notions of time.

And btw you better pray that on your shard Sutek is not currently at the other side of the Abyss because it can be months before he comes close enough to his lab to even try to farm the quest.

To the original poster: if you just need non-SA rares (the silver gears) they drop from Paragon Golems, not from SA bosses like the golden ones.

Also keep in mind that The Wanderer gear is no longer obtainable.

what's hard to believe about 60 a hour? Once you memorize the locations of the items you can do it very, very quickly, this is how I filled my music box. (I would go down and do 100 at a time, toss them in a chest in my house, then go back for more, I have so many duplicates it isn't even funny....). This quest WILL drop the silver gears too, i filled my music box entirely from here, did no paragons.

On siege Sutek hangs out right at the bottom of the area, whenever he moves he warps back nearly instantly, if that's not happening on other shards it should be.

Which ones do you need. I chain that gear quest a lot.

ive got a full music box on sonoma.

and ive got one on ATL that is missing 3 uncommon.

and i think my GL one is about the same.

i just watch venders that i know sell them and i farm when i can.

i prefer to go to the big black castle in ilsh and kill the Betrayers

Thanks Ludes, but I'm on LS - not sure how how it can be done w/ 2 people, it's not hard, I just fizzle doing recall.

there used to be a couple of vendors in luna (South East corner) that used to sell them have not checked in a few months if they are still there though.
