Dark Wisp Orb Problem...

Anyone else having problems getting looting rights to the chest which gives the dark wisp orb? Have tried on multiple characters and have killed the dark wisp guardians by myself and have not got a single orb. Is this a known issue? or can it be fixed soon so the rest of us can do the quest?

I thought I had a problem, then found I was just the perennial noob. I forgot the character had to be on the quest to get it. I was trying to get it for my stealther while using my tamer. The tamer had already done the quest. I had to take it again to get an orb for my other char.

As long as your character has Part 1 of the quest accepted, They only need to be near the chest when its opened to get an orb in your pack.

You don't even need to kill the guardian wisps.
I looted the chest with my stealther after somebody else killed them.

Question.

What about the respawn rate of the Orb ?

I mean, say that I want to do the quest with my crafter with little or no ability to fighting (because of the 1 time per day per character limit...), can I just get 2 Orbs with my fighter while the fighter is on the Quest and then hand an Orb over to the crafter ?

Meaning, once I get the 1st Orb with my fighter, can I wait some time (how long ?) in order to get a 2nd Ord to give to my crafter, later, for his Quest ?

You can get orbs on your fighter then pass them to your crafter, However I seemed to only get one orb per quest. I had to go to the quest giver, cancel the quest, then get the quest again before I got another orb.

You can also accept the 1st quest, get orb, use bag of sending.
Rinse and repeat.
When done, grab all orbs from bank box and give to whomever.

Thats exactly what I did. Bag of sending went at like 2:30am had the whole dungeon to myself.

Popps the respawn rate seems like instant almost.

What do you mean "rinse and repeat" ?

You mean "cancel" the quest without completing on the fighter, take it again and get another orb ?

Or do you mean, that using the bag of sending "while" being down the wisp dungeon will make it possible to get a second and a third and a fourth orb without having to cancel the quest and retake it each and every time ??

So you mean one can just "farm" as many orbs one wants just use the bag of sending and wait the "almost instant" respawn for more orbs ?

I also did this, but fixed my karma by helping a some chest pirates with another character.

there are actually 5 spots. and they more or less instantly respawn. may have to wait 30-60 seconds.

you are guaranteed an orb if you are near the chest when its opened, and you are on the quest, and you dont already have one in your pack.

You may even be able to just drop it to the ground, open the chest to get a new one, then pick it back up. havent tried it but it would probably work.

I noticed that after slaying the Guardians, it takes almost a minute and then the chest will change its color. Then you can loot it.

Its bad that they made the chests lootable by anyone and not the one(s) responsible for the dark wisp's deaths.

I'm glad I was alone when I went for my orbs, and gathered a dozzen of them. I heard of many an unhappy person say how they watched the chest go poof as a cowardly stealther took it.

You'd think Mythic would have learned from past events: Wherever griefing is possible, it WILL happen.

In my experience, as long as you have the quest and looting rights, the orb WILL appear in your pack, no matter who clicks on it.
