Customizing trouble

My house is "improperly" placed but is still running well, now I want to customize it . When I start the usable size goes from 18x18 to 17x17 no problem there but what will happen to the squares outside the new house , and does anyone know if the new customized house will collapse after im done customizing it .

If you used the command to customize and not 'resize' it should have no effect. Do not re-size, that counts as a demolish and you will not be able to re-place.
