Just redeed it with an axe first, then place it again later.
I spoke to Mesanna about this at the last Town Hall Meeting during the question and answer period.
I asked if it would be possible to move my original '98 Guildstone to a new location and if so how I would do it.
Her response to me was don't re-deed it as the art for it no longer exists, email her with the specifics of where it is now, the name on the stone and where it's going and she would move it for me.
I was too scared to even do that, so I left it where it was.
If you are thinking of having her help I would email her first and ask her how to go about changing a custom house that contains an old Guildstone. There may be more options in your case or maybe not. Either way I would get in touch with her first before I tried anything.

Ive never had a problem just hitting them with an axe. Gives you a deed you can place at anytime in your home, or sell the deed. Some people collect them.
Just goes to show how little they truly know about their own game then. I've been moving guildstones for years and years without a problem. If the bloody art didn't exist they wouldn't show up now would they?
Now some servers for some reason have abandoned guildstones in the middle of the woods outside of houses. Those would need help since you can't redeed them, but that's an entirely different issue.

Art definitely exists I know of a keep with about 20 of them.
art for the guild stones altered a bit when they became just deco, not an ingame tool (some at the time said they appeared to have died)
perhaps, if your guild stone has never been moved from it's original placement spot it still, somehow, retains the old look? would need side-by-side comparisons, I think, but on the chance that it does I would not move it until or unless you determine it is so

I just a few days ago deeded one guild stone and sent it off to join its family on my museum on origin... and it made the trip and is happly on its new home.
