I cannot find information on how to get these, I know its out there, but can someone tell me how/where to get them from or point me in the right direction.

If you go north of the soulforge in Ter Mur, you'll reach the tailor's shop.
In there, there is a quest giver, who asks for 10 Britannian Wool.

For that, you go to tram/fel, and shear sheep, and if you have room in your backpack, you get an additional dark wool every shear, named Britannian Wool.
When you have the 10, mark them and return to the tailor, who then fails at making carpet. She then asks you to take a letter to some guy in vesper, in the tailor shop that isn't outside the city.
Do that, then return to her, and she will let you buy carpet from her.

I'm not sure if the guide mentioned it or not, but carpets can be dyed!
What do you use to dye them? Dye tub? Tokuno dyes? Natural dye from plants?
Normal dye tub certainly works - but as usual, at least in 2d, you lose the two distinct colours on some of the original designs, and get mixed shades of the colour you use to dye the object. You may need to experiment a bit to find something that you like the look of!
