Cursed vs non-Cursed items

I see the same artifacts both as cursed and not as cursed.

Are they obtained in the same way with the cursed versions just being more common? Or are the non-cursed version only obtainable in a particular facet?

Can someone explain it to me? (I understand what the cursed property does.. just not how a non cursed artifact is obtained over a cursed one.)

Thanks!

The cursed arties were gotten at events such as the ophid invasion in paupua a couple years ago, the grim reaper event from a couple halloweens ago, and I think there were some other events where you could get a cursed artie. They have the same stats as the real doom arties except that you can not insure or bless them, so for some people they just became collection items to lock down in their house to show off a full set of cursed doom arties. Some people actually use items such as the cursed armour of fortune if their hunting on a tamer in a "safe" area such a killing swoops. I use the cursed orny and hat of the magi when training chars that need the mana regen and LMC.

The non-cursed arties could only be gotten in Doom, and at one point the drop rates were pretty low so prices were sky high on some shards which lead to people duping them. They recently (about a year or so ago) changed the drop rate formula and people (some people other than myself) started getting them more often.
