Current Slayers Situation

The dungeon revamp is also revamping the useless slayers, here is the last useless:

Orc Slayer: let's hope will have an use when they rebuild orc cave

Ophidian Slayer: the ophidians are weak and the reptile slayer is more than enough, we'll see if the terathan keep rebuild could bring an use to this...

Snake Slayer: except yamandon and serado there are not much real uses for this...

Snow Elemental Slayer: maybe the ice dungeon rebuild could bring some sense for this slayer.

Terathan Slayer: like for the ophidian, only the rebuild of terathan keep could give to this slayer an use.

Wolf Slayer: except for the cu sidhe is useless, and the big part of its uselessness come from 2 factors:
1) is a dagger usable only from elf or humans and not alterable.
2) there are not many powerful wolves around.
IMHO it should be unlocked and let it spawn in the new loot generator, and also let it appears for spellbooks.


The talisman slayers need a serious revamp since actually have very few uses and ONLY for melee or range characters.
I'd really like to see those slayers enabled for spells...

The useless ones are:

Bat Slayer: useless from the beginning, let's hope the devs can consider a new bat creature that would requires a slayer :D

Beetle Slayer: nice for rune beetles, but have not many uses...

Bear Slayer: except for the enraged grizzly at the twisted weald spawn is useless.

Ice Slayer: currently there are no creatures that really requires the use of this slayer...

Something I would like to point out because I have noticed nor many people know about it, is the fact that talisman and weapon slayers DO stack (subject to the +200% aka x3 cap). For example using an Undead Slayer weapon along with a Conjurer's Trinket gives +200%, like a single slayer, thus hitting the cap without having to rely on EoO or Perfection. Same for Repond weapon + Vermin or Goblin Talisman.

To fully benefit from this fact, it is obvously best (but not easy) to build your suit in a way where you don't rely on the DI/HCI from the Primer/Trinket to reach caps.

I usually made my suits without counting any slayers, because when you fight something not affected you need to reach the maximum damage output without perfection and EoO.
Why? you can't know what could happen during the battle, so you could find yourself without mana (so unable to cast EoO) or against a tough opponent that let you miss many shots (low perfection) :p

Hey there. Snake slayers in the Tomb of Kings against the Silver Serpents are very useful. After all, someone needs to gather those snake skins for imbuing.

well the silver serpent can be killed pretty easily with the reptile slayer (1 shot) :D

I'd like to see more fluff slayers. And more bosses like serado that are 100% fluff slayer bonus effective and not just 50% group slayer effective bosses. Adding to the number of slayers and not reducing the desired slayers to shooting fish in a bucket.

Earth Eli Slayer would of been on the fluff list if this was posted months ago.

Snow Eli applies to Ice eli also. There needs to be a boss in the future that is Frosty Eli at heart is all.

The new HS Bosses should of been deep sea serpent at heart. Making those tally and added deep sea serp slayer fluff mods usefull.

This would leave room for future bosses that are pure Reptile or Elemental making thos super slayers a must have. Over having the current swiss army bankbox full of lesser slayers only.


The demon aka deamon both applied as mods with new devillain as a super slayer. And before one Code Mage lifts a finger or taxes a brain cell. A game event is run across the shards. Allowing the all shard player action to decide if the in game powers that be can release the knowledge to the world.


As far as instrument and spellbooks rare drop recipes. Rare drops along the lines of replicas drops are on champs but on old bosses. Recipes for example added to the Doom Arty chance while adding a handful of new up to date arty. With the Doom room spawn given the 1 in 20 chance for a paragon with a 25% chance of any recipe drop. Reading spellbook "slayer of" by an imbuer would allow spellbook and weapon imbuing of that slayer ability. Non exp spellbooks maybe 400 point cap. Reading it by a scribe bumps the chance or adds the chance of that slayer being crafted on a book. Small percent but there at least. Or a Carpenter could destroy/burn the recipe to turn target instrument into that recipe slayer with 150 charge renewal. (wouldn't want to take away from any future ToT flutes with 300 charges.)

Fey Slayer: see above paragraph ^ .

Partying for DOOM crossing on CHAT wouldn't be followed by NooB remarks. To keep the fel rivers from flooding with tears of Trammy lovers. Any champ boss replica drop will have a 50% chance of a "slayer of" recipe addition.

since the lesser slayers does much more damage I'd like to see much more lesser than super :p

The recipe idea could work, especially if it's 1 use only so we can have a market for that :D

With a particular slayer in mind, the soul seeker, a change I'd like to see is that 'random' special to a fixed one, say AI.
Put UBWS back on the wolf one, removing the nurf.
No ice slayer use? I keep it on a talisman, allows any, or the same, weap to be used on (10) different mobs, i think. Frost and Ice things

the current mobs affected by ice slayer are weak and you can take them down without problems. Personally I've never used that slayer :D
