Today a few members of the Knights of the Crux Ansata met the Lady Danica Amandine for a ride to the meteor camp. While there, the knights disscussed what to do with the meteor and the effects it had on the orcs and whether it could possibly have the same effect on anyone else. We settled on seeking out Lord Josiah Havel, the royal archaeologist, for information.
We found Lord Havel at his home in Britain, and after explaining the situation, he agreed to come and examine the meteor. Lord Havel told us that he had encountered tools crafted of a similar material during one of his earlier digs, and theorized that the material in the tools had possibly been diluted in order for them to last longer. Not having much experience in that field, Lord Havel directed us to the Minoc mining guilds for more information.
After searching Minoc for a bit, we encountered a miner named Festus Glok. Festus was adamant that neither he, nor any miners in Minoc, would touch the meteor for fear of what it would do. He explained that just a few strikes of a hammer could cause the unstable material to explode like blackrock, or that enough exposure could cause madness. Figuring that the orcs were crazy enough, Festus told us of a half-orc crafter near Cove who might help us.
Sure enough, we found the half-orc Yurku Krunn near the mountains outside the Cove orc fort. A misunderstanding and a few dead orcs later, we managed to get Yurku alone to try and talk with him. He didn't seem to fully understand what we were talking about until Sky Iron was mentioned. He agreed to help under two conditions: that we leave the orcs at the Cove fort alone, and that he receives half of the Sky Iron for his help. We decided it necessary to speak with Danica before agreeing to his terms, and he left.
Upon our return to the meteor camp, we reported to Lady Danica the events that transpired after our departure. She is to speak to the Barons before any further action is taken.
