Craftable artifacts from heartwood recipes need an upgrade

Give players a reason to runt for resources needed to this craftable artifacts Recipe - UOGuide, the Ultima Online Encyclopedia
Most of them is outdated and useless now where we have Imbuing. If they get their mods upgraded so they are up to date, it would give a boost to crafters who do not Imbuing or runic tools.

Also for the new recipes to tiger and dragon turtle armor, it would be nice if the armor from it had more durability than leather armor and a rare chance to to get one of the Eodon slayers on armor made of black or white tiger pelt.
The Dragon Turtle armor should also have a chance for a special mod as the Dragon Turtle Scute is hard to get.

I would like to see Smiths, Tailors, Carpenters and Tinkers sell unimbued armor and weapon, that not always need to be imbued to be useful or players with imbuing could then add a mod or 2 more.

I disagree, legendary items already have too much power. when imbueing first came out, everyone had 500 intensity pieces, now people have 900. I don't think the players need to have even more powerful items. Rather than update the craftable artifacts, can't we make the legendary artifacts more ephemeral?

Your problem is insurance and the items last to long.
Why wo we have all this crafted minor artifact and artifacts both from crafting and old ones from spawn (not new loot), when most of them are useless now?
It's fine you can get very powerful stuff from spawn, but this crafted it's that take expensive resources should at least 400 intensity. If Item do have 900 intensity, they not be insure or bless able or should cost a lot to insure.

Dragon Turtle Armor IMO should be the same as Plate or something and should not be based on Leather for starters.

It should give a bonus like at least Studded armor does and should not be meddable.

Why should dragon turtle armor not be meddable? It comes from an organic source that uses magic! There is no metal to "hinder the flow of mana." Heck, bone and wood armors should be naturally meddable as well.

Most craftables are useless today. They could benefit from some attention.

I agree with the OP. They need to upgrade the old craftable artifacts or allow you to imbue them.
Not sure allowing imbuing would do the trick, unless we do upgrade them a little too.

Lets take:

If we upgrade the mods a little, it would be a alternative to imbuing and bring back hunting in old Mondain's Legacy dungons. There will still be room for one extra mod from imbuing but the the bow should sell fine without. An idea could also be to add a randum mod as #5, that you can't imbue.
