Gentlemen,

This is Count of Berg. I want to get on the same page on this trial. What exactly are we doing tonight?

I have some thoughts on how it might go because of my background as a paralegal. However, the whole point of this is to be entertaining to the Shard. My co-Counsel is checking with our clirnts to see if they want to shoot for a not guilty verdict or wish to be convicted. Either, way I feel my role is to entertain the masses.

Hope I am on the same page as the rest of the cast. How might we communicate privately to make this a great script?

BTW, I do not mean to make it a strict script. I mean that we should have a good understanding of what both sides will say and do. How the Judge rules and what the jury will vote will be a mystery to both sides.

Thanks for your time,

Baron (Count)

Re: Jury Duty

I'm extremely leery of the words 'script' and 'a good understanding of' being used in the context of roleplay.

I understand your point; but the aim should be a trial that doesn't need to be pre-planned and doesn't require compromising character.

We are having fun with all the twists that you guys throw at us (and not to mention all the legal mumbo jumo). Wouldn't want it any other way! :)

Re: Jury Duty

This discussion belongs in another thread.

But I agree with Berg. In short, it's been confusion. The last event was marked out for Jury Selection, but ended up spending a whole hour on extraneous bickering. By the time it came down to actually looking at the jury and deciding who was fit to stay or not, we were exhausted.

Let's not call it a "script". But let's at least have some sort of procedure that marks out what follows what in a normal courtroom procedure. If other things come up, ~that's~ good roleplay.

Spending an hour to do nothing but be confused with who should be saying what is not productive for either side.
