I've never made a cook before, not sure what to make at what skill level.

Trying to power-craft a bunch of enchanted apples/fruit baskets etc.

Make Bread, all the way to gm. You will want to start by making roughly 20-30 dough. You will need alot of dough first, since your failure rate at low skill level will be higher than your sucess rate. Then using the "Last Ten" window alternate between bread and dough (this can be done by clicking the second one from the top, since it will then flip-flop the 1st and 2nd choices). Only water and flour are needed as ingredients, so this is a fairly cheap method. I have GMed 2 cooks this way.

not too concerned about cost, moreso speed. Is that also the fastest method?

I would think so, since you only need to stock flour and water and alternate making bread and dough. Cooking is different than other crafting skills. Other crafting skills have multiple items with varying degrees of difficulty to make. However, with Cooking, the success chance for all of the normal items (bread, pies, meats, etc) scale directly with your skill (excluding the use of talismans). If you Cooking is at 48.5%, you will have 48.5% chance of succeeding at making bread from dough. Skills like Blacksmithing and Tailoring have skill ranges that it is best to make one item for fastest gains (ie making Robes from 54.0 to 78.0). Cooking does not have these ranges.

It does not take that much time to reach 80-90 cooking.

You won't need much gold to spare. Set yourself up at the west brit baker, there's a trough right next to the oven so you've got everything you need right there. (with the exception of tools I think) Buy your flour from the baker, make it into dough, then into bread as Barry suggested, then sell the bread back to the baker. It's a fairly fast gaining skill. I've GM'd it at least 3 times over the years. My last chef took maybe 3 days total. I'd usually grind away until gains stopped coming at a fairly regular interval, then start up again the next day. I charted my progress as I went, and actually found that I turned a modest profit from selling bread. If you can overcome the bordem you are already halfway there.

My crafter has cooking...

There's not much 'moneymaking' to cooking tho.

Except for savage kin paints...wich people rarely buy.
Enchanted appel's...wich don't cost that much 50-100gp.
Enchanted Grapes...wich also go pretty cheap.
Fruitbaskets...wich ain't all that either.

And gingerbread cookies just for lolz.

Actually there are some difficulty-based foods now. Asian foods (Samurai Empire) and Enchanted foods (Mondain's Legacy) have difficulty ratings.

Have a look through your menus and see what has a difficulty level above 0%. See what has a success chance between 45-65, you should get decent gains here but also burn the most ingredients.

Baking bread to GM is still the no-brainer route, very little you need to worry about except the drop-off in gains toward the end. It's here that you may wish to switch to some difficulty-based stuff if you find yourself getting frustrated.

Happy Cooking! :stir::pancakes:

Bread from 0 to GM is the way I usually go. I think near the end I took a break to make some parrot wafers, just for a little something different. (Well, that and I hadn't had anything to feed my parrot at the time.)

I don't know why, but for some reason GMing cooking is one of my prouder accomplishments in the game.

Cooking could use some overall to increase usefulness...
QFT...

Like stat increasement for 30min - 1 hours...

Right now i don't see the use of baking 'a cheeze pizza'....since it does...NOTHING.
