I got one about a week ago and today, tried bonding it. Well it wont bond. I guess I can see why thats a problem with only 103.4 real taming. I got a jewel out, attempted again, this time successfully bonding it.

My problem comes when I try controlling it. I take the jewel off coming down from 114.4, to 103.4 and cannot control the dragon.

I have 120 animal lore, 103.4 taming, and with the taming calculator, that equals more than enough to control all animals with 100% success (even fire steeds) which require 106 real taming to tame.

Why does it make a difference with the dragons? or is this a bug..?

Hmm maybe you need real taming to control it.
Ohh that would be cool.

Ive only got about 90 real taming (115 with jewells) and i can (now) control mine well. I had 100 animal lore when i first bonded it and i couldnt control it at all... 3 failed "all follow me" attempts in a row and it was down to very happy.
Decided to raise lore and can control him pretty well on 105 animal lore with maybe 1 in 20 commands that fail.

The new dragons require 104.7 taming, so of course you'll have trouble controlling it if your lore or taming is lower than that.

I posted in taming forums.. I got on TC and found that their taming requirement is 104.7... so you need at least that to bond. I tried getting that to work with the formula.. but the answer just didn't pan out with my personal experience with them.

I had no problems at all, it even listened to me without being fed right after taming. I have 120/taming 120/lore.

"I have no problem to control my greater dragon, too. I have 0 vet 120 lore 120 taming with jewelry. "

By the way, although I always wear my taming jewelry, my real skills are 98 taming, 107 animal lore.

stop trolling threads...?

my real taming is 103.4 and my real lore is 120. if youd like to know my build?

real skill

magery 120
lore 120
vet 120
music 120
peace 120
animal taming 103.4

if youre calling me cheap for using a jewel to bond it, you got issues because it takes a lot of hard work and gold to get as much as what ive done so far. Ive also used this char to take other skills to 120. so before trolling me, think of something constructive to say that relates to my question instead of bashing me with your ignorance thank you

thanks that probably explains why the calculator didnt work for me. someone told me that the required taming was the same as a regular dragon so thats what I used.

Chance to control is now 50/50 based on Taming/Lore, was an effort to nerf PvPers with GM+ Taming/Human JoAT Lore to control high end pets. My Tamer/Mage has 120.0 Taming/120.0 Lore/GM Vet/GM Magery/GM Eval/GM Med/80.0 Resist, Real. Only thing i've noticed that can actually disobey my commands more than just a little is Firesteeds, they take 106.0 Taming to own.

Easy there, chief. She wasn't trolling, she was genuinely wondering about whether it takes real skill to bond these to compensate for the power they pack. No one's calling you cheap or bashing your thread.
