Connection To EA

I live in Vancouver, Canada and play on Baja.

My Trace Utility shows 3 non-EA hops followed by 5 (that's right FIVE) hops within ea.com. How (or maybe why) could/should this be? I know central-aw2 is the Baja server but wouldn't the 4 ea.com hops be very near Baja or is it a tour of a corporate intranet? And why does Baja need 5 hops?

And the hops within EA are why I ping at 52 (these results are based on 2,000 continuous pings).

Just a guess, likely, your ISP is routing to one of EA's gateway in Canada.

From there on, EA's internal routers take over and routes you from their Canada router to a couple of their NA routers, then to the Cali one, and finally baja.owo.com.
