Computer Problems, Can somebody save my day?

I understand this is a technical problem which should be placed in such, but I'm hoping as many people read UHALL that somebody will be able to fix this problem quickly for me.

I patch fine to UO but when I attempt to log in (using just the UO client) I immediately get the, There is a problem communicating with Origin, message.

If I attempt to login with UOassist it freezes at, verifying account.

I don't know what the problem could be considering I was playing UO yesterday. I was hoping to have one of those all day UO sessions, and my computer has completely ruined it for me. I went as far as uninstalling McAfee to see if it had an effect with the firewall, which it didn't. I turned off my Windows firewall as well, which had no effect. I've attempted to open Ports for UO but I've been somewhat confused with that attempt. If I manually open a port I noticed on the UO website it list numbers, example: 5550-5600. Does this mean I have to list each number per port?

I've been looking on the internet for about 2 hours now with no avail. I'm trying to salvage some UO playing time. Please help :sad3:

Right there should tell you that posting here is the wrong place.

There are indeed players who frequent the technical forum that can help you. I always am floored that people will begin with 'I know this doesn't belong here...' and post anyhow.

okay the current version is 7.0.13.0 (patch 41) for the 2d client. Are you using 2d or otherwise referred to as the classic client?

right click your uo icon on your desktop, select run as admin. the last 2 patches for me won't patch all the way if you open it in uo-assisst.

I'm using the 2d client, I clicked run as administrator and nothing happened. I think you just gave me some insight into how this happened. I had a virus on my computer and to remove it I had to use my back-up about a week ago. So I guess the question now is how do I get it to patch.

hmm out of my league now, my guess would be un-install and do over but there may be another way.

I took BIGJON and the previous posters advice and I'm re-downloading UO- hopefully that solves the problem.

The current version of the classic client on this page is 7.0.10.3. A total of 8 patches are released since that version, requiring a total of 638 MBs to download :(.

So, do you have it fixed now Dio? I was going to suggest checking your firewall settings because it sounds like your firewall is blocking UO and UO Assist reaching the internet since the program changed.
