Compassion gains

Does anyone else think that the 5 minute wait sucks when gaining compassion?
Since we can only do 5 a day the waiting seems totally unneeded to me.
Maybe there's a reason for it.. I don't see what it is.
They take away the gold after 5 escorts to keep people from farming or whatever.

I also think it's lame that warriors don't get to gain in compassion as well. You have to be able to gate or have someone with you willing to toss gates for you.

If you go into the prisoners cell in the orc dungeon you dont have to wait 5 minutes to do another escort its what i do with my tamer, but i do think it is BS that a warrior cant gain without help from another or having to have magery so you can gate they really need to find another way

Prisoner quests and I think Bravehorn get gains and can be repeated right away.

It ain't BD and the timer has been in place for a long time.

I also believe the overland brigand prisoners are not on the 5 min timer either. But yea, the prison in the orc dungeon is the way to go.

I was doing that but I had four done and I went to do the last but the rune was blocked. This annoys me all the time. Ugh.
I don't think defaulting one square over will hurt the game to much.

It's not about the Compassion that there's a timer, it's about the 500 gold.

A mage gating an escort every 15 seconds or so comes out to 240k/hr with no risk, except of missing an escort and getting a little less that hour.

And as for "wahhh only mages can dooooo iiiiiiiit", I've done thousands of escorts on my fencer who wouldn't know the difference between a spellbook and chicken feed.

Then how about this.... the game knows how many escorts you've done in a single day. So after 5 you receive no more gold until after the 5 minutes are up.

the 5 minute timer was put into place to allow others a turn at the escort NPCs, from back in the day when you could escort as many as you wanted at one time (way before the compassion virtue part).

But yes, I agree that it does need another looking over.

Sorry, my mind fades in and out.
But they did fix that lil problem. I miss the days of escorting NPCs around town.
Guess the solution would be to drop the gold from NPC escorts to maybe 30 gp. That way its more profitable to kill mongbats than it would be too escort NPCs. Oh and kill that timer.

The 500-per is a new addition, too.

Used to be based on the NPC. Could even get a "Sorry, I don't actually have money, but thanks for the lift!" out of it

It's Five. Damn. Minutes.

Five escorts per day plus Five Minutes between escorts equals a whopping twenty whole minutes.

Kill bears or something for leather with that five minutes. Work animal lore, musicianship, stand in haven and answer newbie questions... we're nto talking five hours. FIVE MINUTES.

Geez.

that has happened to me as well i just wait it normally become unblocked after a couple minutes
