Collector's Quest

I have been bored with the normal grind and decided to look up a quest or two and mess around with them...

I came to the collector's quest where I have to take a picture of some creatures. My creature is a juggernaut. I cant find it anywhere, i tried the exodus one that didnt work. Lord British's Castle is gone in ilsh, that is where these creatures are suppose to be, what do I do now?

There is a Juggernaut in the camp just inside the cave north on Honor gate in Ilshenar.

Head to Honor gate, follow the wall up on your right until you get to the central area entrance, once inside head to the camp just to the east, there are overseers, betrayers, juggernauts, exodus minions, etc located in this camp.

Very Fun Quest. Mesanna said a while ago that they were going to adjust the chances of getting a Statue named after the person doing the Quest. Never heard if that was implemented or not.

Since when does the quest require MORE than ten pieces of statue to create the whole? The last two quest I have done it has taken 11 pieces to make the statue. When did this change and why? Anyone know?

I did this quest hundreds and hundreds of times prior to 2010, way too many to count, and it was always 10 bits for a statue. It doesn't seem to count the 'initial' joining as 2 pieces, ie only says 'something happened' 9 times but doesn't count the first as 2. Is it the same on other shards or just on Oceania?

I noticed the same thing earlier this year when I was doing the quests on Origin. I thought maybe I'd just miscounted on the first one, but every statue I put together after that also took 11 pieces to complete.

Yeah, noticed that as well when I was running it a good bit a few months ago. Also, on occasion I would get a bugged piece that could not be added to the glob of ones already added together.

they screwed up the for/next loop edge cases - it's a common mistake in computer programming

But does them screwing it up mean they actually changed something to increase the chances of getting one with your own name?

Well at least I wasn't going nuts, I wish they would put it back, 10 pieces was ENOUGH already, now at 11 it is just that bit slower.

I would also like to confirm the names on them. I know for years a friend and myself were trying to confirm and verify the actual possible names from the original list of 60.

Number 61 - Keeper of the Truth was actually sighted 'in game' years ago, not sure where it was now (ie shard), or if it still exists or is obtainable from the quest or whether it was a 'one off' item made by an EM or whatever they used to be called eons ago. The original named list always consisted of 60 names, including 'yourself'. The Keeper of the Truth has too many letters to be a character name which we thought may of been the answer so any info on this one would be good.

I have sighted two in game of personally named statues, so while they are extremely rare they can happen.

There used to be a house on the north side of Luna on Lake Austin that had a very large collection of the obsidian statues. You might check there and see if it's still there and which statues it includes.

The house is still there. It is actually a museum, that has some great items.

I have been collecting and watching out for Obsidian Statue for over 7 years or so now. With the exception of the rare (make that really rare) player named ones I have yet to see any named ones that is not on the list located on the Rares Forum archive.. http://stratics.com/community/threads/holiday-and-collectible-lists.41194/ ... I will not say other names do not exist (specifically the non existent names listed in the list below), only that I would love to see them in game personally if they are ever found.

These are the UO equivalent of a memetic virus or herpes... Everytime someone wants to collect obsidian statues they search and come across that damn list containing them. They seem to pop up in every thread about obsidian statues. They don't exist, half of them contain parts from other real statues.

P.S. don't spread UO herpes. Delete them from your lists people.
