Well, this is a loaded question for sure.
First let me start out by saying that I have never reported on something only "4 people are interested in ".
Player run events which I assume this is what you are referring to is the true backbone of Great Lakes and always has been since I started playing over ten years ago.
You yourself may not be interested in these small events and small happenings but others are.
This may sounds cheesy but I also try to give everyone their 15 minutes of fame in the realm.
It is the active player and the people behind the avatar that makes Great Lakes so great IMO.
With that said I wish you would have addressed this on another thread as this is on a Questionnaire by a single player. I prefer not taking away possible reply , and conversation about COCOPUFF's but that it out of my control by your post here.
I would also like to take the time to address your statement "As you can see this is a serious question".
As most of us know many months Stratics boards went down for months and were reformated. In this downtown many board posters stopped posting and replying on threads. This has had a good and bad outcome. Many of the flamers and board warriors have moved on and it has made these boards a more mature place, though less active.
With that said I must admit though your replys are often boarderline mean spirited ( and not serious ) I OFTEN enjoy and laugh at them. It is nice to have you here.
Over the years as a reporter I have grown a thick skin but still do not care for it when I am attacked about my volunteer job here. We all have lives away from the computer and away from UO as do I.
I have been the only long running active GL reporter during the past eight years. We have had some wonderful reporters but most stay a year or less, that is just the nature of the beast. I report on what I see, what interests me during the time I am in the realm. That is my style.
Different reporters have different styles and mine is more of human interest.
If one is looking about information on the next patch, the next major event there is UOHall and other avenues.
Your statement makes it sound as though I have never reported on a EM event which is not the case, just scroll back a bit. We do have another GL reporter at this time and recently she has reported on EM events and she is active in the RP community also. She likes reporting on the role play community and that is her interest which is different than mine, though I have reported on the RP community and RP events in the past.
Any upcoming event that is sent to Great Lakes Stratics or directly to me gets posted in the News. I have addressed this issue recently about the EM sending upcoming event information to me to post and it has not happened, that is something I cannot control.
I hope this has answered your question.
How come you never report on important stuff like when the events are going to take place? Can't you work with the EMs to make the great lakes community of things that more than 4 people are interested in?
*Note to whom it may concern: As you can see this is a serious question.*
