Client Crashes

Why can't a stable client come out?

I play multiple accounts and about 50% of the time I log out, and log into a different account my client crashes when I select a shard.

Why? I keep seeing in patch notes that a client crash problem was fixed, etc, etc, yet I continue to crash.

Run 6 different accounts each night when I 1st log on to collect Smith & Tailor bods, take care of vendors etc. Then swapping chara's when bored on one account to another. Maybe once a month I client crash & usually it's at a bank or recalling & I swap accounts I bet 20 times a night. I would almost bet there's a a bad .dll or a conflict someplace if it happens this constantly. Try running a Registry cleaner to make sure there are no bad links there (I use Glary Utility a lot), could be that simple. What OS are you running any ways ? I'm on XP Pro & Home.

not sure if related but i blue screened when i had just logged into shard.
when i rebooted and opened uo it lost some settings in that it
1) played the starter movie
2) reset all my settings in options

it did not change the macros.txt which i still have and where ever it saves the orginazation of whats on your screen like drag on spells and skills.

i think the blue screen said something about writing to read only memory.


might just be an indication of something else going - i dont know.

I am not sure what problems you are having w/ crashes. Ever since they fixed it after Halloween (right before?) I have had zero crashes while using the EC. Compare that to before the fix and its great. I crashed at least 3-5 times a night. Now I can play for hours and not have to worry. I run on Windows 7 x64 RC btw w/ top of the line hardware, maybe you have some hardware troubles?
