clearing Magincia

I've been working on them too. I hope we're working towards the re-building. The garbage has gone so far, I'm waiting for the next change with hope.
I've seen nothing from the team that says that the souls of Magincia have any purpose other than fulfilling the quest at the moongate.
Anyone who's seen anything else from them, please speak up!
I mostly view the souls of Magincia as additional obstacles when the Shadowlords Invasion spawns there.
I've seen nothing about how if you free enough of the souls, you can clear the city.
I think that'll come later.

The only response I've seen about Magincia was Draconi's mention of the tidy up. I would assume the next phase will be seen in the next publish. As for the spirits, they are only mentioned as being the keepers of the threads for the quests at the moongate.
I'm surprised NO one else has mentioned this..... but has no one else noticed that the more folk turn the thread in the more foliage seems to return to the island.....?
From what I've noticed when someone turns something in ..... something appears on the landscape...... the more gets turned in the more appears..... so really that's the key I believe to "rebuilding" Magincia.....

Is there still a hideously low drop rate on the threads from the corrupted souls?
depends how you hunt them - a warrior with a poison weapon makes very short work of them.
hmm ... I hadn't noticed anything new added ... the clearing of the debris made a world of difference though.

Depends on how you're killing them.
I can get 20+ an hour with a melee warrior.
Magic, pets, even weapons with hit area - seems to be about 1/4 to 1/10 that rate.

Last I tried, it was with a macing samurai. Scout's set/ring of vile/bracelet of health/winds edge.
Killed them quite well, but the drop rate was slower than for either of the others (I have a ton of the spirit speak ones, from just JoaT spirit speak.
Plus, they had a habit of:
1.) Seeming to fail at AI, refusing to attack or move, mostly.
2.) Casting at me from well off-screen (mostly when failing at AI).
3.) Swarming me en masse, when they collectively spawn, and seem to speedhack in from off-screen. Red-lining me pretty much before I even know they're there (sometimes, my reactions are a little slow
).

The devs seem to be testing some new patrolling, swarming and death mechanics (one of the interesting things I find with the corrupted souls is how "death" is not instant - it takes a second or two after reaching 0hp for them to actually die)

they serve same purpose you turn them in for quest also there are three quests
(aside: just to confirm Frarc's opinion of the rate above, I ran a test with a bushido/healer with wrath of the dryad and got 32 threads in 30 minutes)
I've done the quests on several characters, but I didn't really want the rubble pieces. I've been collecting threads towards the promised use on corrupted cloaks, of which I've got 8. I currently have 68 fate and life threads and 70 thought collected for that purpose.
Draconi has admitted that the threads will be used to enhance the Cloaks of Corruption.
I can't find the post though.
I actually worry I haven't collected enough of the threads, but I'm too busy with the invasions to get more.
Oh well.

Discoverd that by accident. Wanted to equip staff of Pyros (undead slayer) but pressed the wrong equip key and equiped the staff instead. Was attacked by a ghost then and saw i killed id with one hit . That worked better then the undead slayer. Geuss its the 100% poison damage.
