A house design contest was announced in UOGuide's first newsletter. The theme is to take a classic prebuilt design and enhanced it as a custom version. The full contest details can be found on this page:

can't customize a keep or castle and have it viewable on a shard.... would you accept it in sections? or better yet, allow use of Kurgan's HouseBuilder program?

You can make your entry on Test Center. If for some reason it goes down we will still accept the entries.

Houses created by 3rd party programs are not accepted, sorry. Must be on a production shard or test center.

I got your submission. It is very nice.

The focus of the contest is house design. If you want to add decorations it is up to you.

no, which is why I asked about Kurgan's program.. trying to decide now if I can do anything glamorous with other types

You can make a Keep or Castle, it just has to be smaller than the original.

Entries will likely be posted on July 24. Judging and public voting will begin when all the entries are available for viewing.

One of my submissions. 4 small towers designed to extort people for tolls. Crossing the river will be very hard with archer platforms to fire from and murder holes above to pour boiling oil upon trespassers.

Want to lay siege? You must do it from both sides of my river.

Do we have to use the original colored walls, and floors of the classic house that we choose? if i wanted to enhance a small tower by changing the walls to wooden is that acceptable?

You can use anything you wish to build your house. It is the judges' preference on what looks best in terms of an updated design.

JC will all the pictures be posted from submissions? How many homes were submitted/how many people made submissions?

This was a great contest idea. Home design contests are always a good thing as anyone can participate.
