Clairification needed on house customization

I was about to customize a house on one of my grandfathered accounts, I have done it before and nothing was amiss but a friend just warned me I'll loose my other houses to decay the minute I enter the customization menu on the house I want to change. Has things changed in reguards to this??
I thought as long as I dont change the footprint of the house or use "I wish to resize" I should be fine.... anyone??

My understanding is that using the re-size option is the same as placing a house, thus it will cause your other grandfathered houses to enter irrevocable decay.

I always understood that if you change one of the original house designs to a custom plot, or if you resize a custom plot that you would lose the grandfather status on all houses and the new custom plot would become the primary house.

I do not think that customizing a grandfathered house will cause you to lose the grandfather status.

However, it's not an area to test and make a mistake!

I knew of the Resize bit, as the Dev made it very clear after many players goofed and lost many homes.
I have in the past customized on 2 of my grandfathered accounts a home and all was fine, no effect on the main houses or loss of Grandfathered titles on them, but reciently a few friends have said its changed and not to do it.
Wonder if I could get a Dev ruleing on this?

Didn't the one house per account come into effect before customization?

I seem to have it stuck in my head that turning a grandfathered house into a customizeable one will cause you to lose your status.

Yes the new houseing customization did come after the one house per account rule went in. It was a blow to alot of home owners who wanted to get a "new type home" back then.

I have a few houses on grandfathered accounts that i have over the years turned to customized plots they are still grandfathered and fine.

The thing is with the changes afoot these days friends have told me not to do another home for fear of loosing all on that account. Kind of sux if i cant...

Well ... grandfathering was "added" to preserve "historical sites/holdings"
(Elders? agreement? ...)

to save >the building< not the plot ...
redecorating, fine ... just rearranging furniture ... happens *shrugs*

Drop the building and ...
well
it ain't about >the building< no more ... now is it?

Dropping the building SHOULD revert the plot to standard plot mechanics ...
the "grandfathered building" ... is gone.

It is supposed to be a PERSISTENT world ...
ne'er promised to be PERMANENT.

Thy wee-bit housie, too, in ruin!
It's silly wa's the win's are strewin!
An' naething, now, to big a new ane,
O' foggage green!
An' bleak December's win's ensuin,
Baith snell an' keen!

Thou saw the fields laid bare an' waste,
An' weary winter comin fast,
An' cozie here, beneath the blast,
Thou thought to dwell,
Till crash! the cruel coulter past
Out thro' thy cell.

That wee bit heap o' leaves an' stibble,
Has cost thee monie a weary nibble!
Now thou's turned out, for a' thy trouble,
But house or hald,
To thole the winter's sleety dribble,
An' cranreuch cauld.

But Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men
Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!

Didn't the one house per account come into effect before customization?

I seem to have it stuck in my head that turning a grandfathered house into a customizeable one will cause you to lose your status.
Yes it did BUT when customization was introduced and marketed (can't remember the exact publish) it was clearly stated that grandfathered home owners had nothing to worry about. I've customized a few with no problems, but that was way back when it all came out.. right now I'm weary to do so just cus so many people are unsure of what will happen.

BTW It really SUX that after all this time there is so much confusion to this SIMPLE QUESTION. Why can't a dev member finally put us at ease and give us an ANSWER... pretty please.. :)
