Circuit City to Shut Down..

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Bankrupt electronics retailer Circuit City Inc. said Friday it has asked for court approval to close its remaining 567 U.S. stores and sell all its merchandise.

The company said it has 34,000 employees.

That's messed up, they just built a Brand New store here a few months ago. Well maybe we can get some cheap DVD's? Who wants to play "Who Goes Bankrupt Next??"

34k people losing their jobs.. that's terrible.

That said, I'm not surprised. I AM surprised they were building new stores. Nearly every time I went into a Circuit City, I walked out empty handed because Best Buy had everything I was looking for for substantially less. I think I bought a printer there once like 5 years ago and that's it. And they never learned their lesson.

See? Blockbuster is bad! I've been telling many of you that for over 6 years.. lol

All of our circuit city's closed right before christmas. We just had one built too. They said all this percent off, but i think they jacked up the prices and then put discounts on them.

And I can't remember the last time I went to Blockbuster!
To bad about Circuit City. We have one somewhere in town, and a tiny Best Buy waaaay on the other side of town.
I went into Circuit City holiday shopping, but to expensive. Ended up getting the stuff I was looking for at Best Buy.
