Chivalry - Consecrate Weapon Question

does the chiv spell consecrate weapon work against players? or only monsters?

I believe consecrating your weapon before attacking another player will attack that player's weakest resist. So if the person has an all 70's suit, it'll do nothing different. If they do not, then you will get better damage.
