I recall reading in the old skills forum that chivalry @ 80 was good enough to never fail EoO. However, I have reached 80 and STILL fail every now and again and have to cast up to three times in some instances (not due to mana).

Does anyone know if 81 will be sufficient to never fail, or will it need to be worked up to 85 (working on a tight template here)?

Success chance is figured as
(Current skill – Minimum skill required to cast) * 2

Plugging in values:
(80-45)*2 = 70% at 80 skill

Thus (95-45)*2 seems about right for never-fail

Source of this formula: EA Knowledge Base article ... just before the truncation. Here's the linky.

As a GM in Chivalry and heading to Legendary, I also know now how much Holy Light and Noble Sacrifices I gotta do! Good grief!

I might just set up a 1-toon aid station on the fringe of a battle zone and NS all the ghosties ... with Knight of Compassion they'll come back at 80% HP.

Actually, it was a bunch of people who don't mind failing 30% of the time that say that 80 is high enough - I fail too much on it at 90. If there was room for more on my templates, I'd add more (but thanks to the Tactics changes, I had to take points from my previously 100-total Chivalry and move the points into Tactics to still use special moves). One of my characters had to drop to almost 80 skill (I had 31 points of tactics bonuses on a character to reach GM tactics - now I have 109 Tactics - and I had to drop parry 5 points and chiv 14 to compensate, plus get rid of the +12 points I couldn't use)
