Chicken Lizard Hatching Bug

I thought this was fixed with the last publish - however it looks like I didn't read the fine print. As per the Patch Notes on Dec. 17th (on the UO website):

Publish 63.1

* Houses will no longer evict chickens when players claim them from coops.

The problem that is still occurring is that when the eggs are hatched inside a house, the chicken lizard temporarily appears inside the house and then is teleported outside underneath the house sign. I know this what was happening when the chicken lizards were claimed from the coop and since the publish this bug has been fixed.

If this is not a bug, then forgive my ignorance but it doesn't seem all too logical for this to occur when hatching the little guys. Regardless, I have re-submitted it as a bug.

Perhaps the game considers the chicken lizard to be a non-accessed entity, just as would any other monster. This happens with any private house 100% of the time and I believe it happens in public houses as well if the creature is spawned there instead of walking into the house. Basically, they would have to make a sole exception for the chicken lizard by itself but that brings other issues such as being brought into other players houses and such.

It's to make taming them difficult and not negate the whole speed effect and collar requirement.. making you chase it down to tame it. Otherwise you could just fence it in your house.

However, you can just go to one of those tiny islands or a sheep pen or something and tame it there, perfectly legal. You can also use Herding to stop it running around, with zero skill.

Use your head not your feet for thiking! Hatch the egg in a small shop where is less room to swing a cat!

If it is a game mechanics issue surrounding the spawning of a creature, then red sky's comment makes sense.

Hen, I'm not sure what difference a house set to private versus public would make but next time I go to hatch a regular chicken lizard, I'll switch my house to public. Unless you meant a player-owned house versus an NPC building...

Fink and Winker, excellent suggestions for taming the newly hatched chicken lizards. My plan was to do just that if and when I ever managed to get a battle chicken egg. So far it has just been regular chicken lizards and so this "issue" of mine hasn't been too much of an inconvenience yet since the newly hatched chicken lizards don't run away when they appear under the house sign. When I do get a battle chicken egg, I'll be sure to use a closed in area outside of my house.

No I meant private house as in your house. If it is set to private all hatchlings will be ejected. This feature is working as intended.
I hatch all my battle chickens in Ocllo. Find a small room there are plenty there and in other towns.
