In celebration of ChessieFest 2015, notorious pirate captain Holly Bloodhand has announced a story contest!
Topic: Tillerman Tales
Have you ever wondered about the stories that your tillerman starts to tell you? Now is your chance to flesh them out!
The winner will be awarded their very own copy of "Banditry for Dummies"!
The judges will be Captain Holly Bloodhand, Lady Ashlynn of Cove, and Lady Eena.
Please read the following rules carefully. Entries that do not adhere to the rules will be disqualified!
Rules:
-You may use an actual tillerman story, or create your own--the important thing is your story should have the feel of a tillerman story. Your story should begin with "Did I ever tell thee about the time..." and progress from there. (The "Ar!" is optional!)
-Your story should fit in a single NPC book. You must write your story in a NPC book so that it is readable in both clients and turn it in to the Vesper Auction House first-floor mailbox by midnight ET on Saturday, September 19th. Bring some copies to the presentation as well! (Red leaves will be made available for presenters.)
-Your story should also be posted here OR emailed to [email protected] and I will post it here for you. Do NOT send your story as an attachment--send it as text in the email body by midnight ET on Saturday, September 19th.
-You must present your story in-person and in-character at the Fest. You MUST present your story to be eligible to win. Presentation will take place on Sunday, September 20th at 6PM ET.
-You will have a five minute time limit to present your story! You may paraphrase, use props, or just read it, but I highly recommend that you have it macroed out ahead of time so we can keep things moving.
-Fest co-hosts and contest judges are not eligible to win, but are welcome and encouraged to write and present stories. Normal staff are eligible.
-Stories will be judged primarily on the following criteria: quality of writing, adherence to theme, and in-character presentation. Using Chesapeake lore/characters is encouraged but not required.
If you have any questions, please post them here or email [email protected]. Good luck!
