(Question) Chessie factions

So I haven't PVP'd regularly in years and I'm thinking about getting back in with a fence/poisoner since that skill is viable again.

Are the factions on chessie pretty much even or is one more dominant?

I don't imagine any faction 'needs' another dexer, but basicaly I'm asking which faction would be a good choice to put my character into?

As far as numbers go, I'd rather be an underdog than just another face in a zerg.

Factions are very interesting right now. The largest one is TB with the new P@!N guild. They're on the most often of any. TB also has EMP, but they're not real huge and only play off and on. I'm not sure if they're playing alongside P@!N or not. Next you have the MvP guild in Min which isn't what they used to be, but they tend to run around with blues quite a bit. UHOH moved from TB to SL and has a second guild called A_T. They're pretty small, but very good. They aren't on as much as others, but you can usually find some of them in primetime. Lastly, COM has the LD guild. They run a lot of different shards and come on here now and again.

If you were to ask me, minax is probably the underdog faction right now. But if you're going to be gate fighting, you might want to pick another cause i know MvP hangs out at the gate quite a bit.

Good answer milk. P@IN and EMP are no longer allied. MVP is more active on the weekends as I think there core group slave at jobs pretty heavily during the week. Uhoh is SL now and run mostly later in the evenings. LD is P@IN's main competition at the moment but they play multiple shards so either yoiu see them or you dont. When you do see them they tend to roll with a decent size and formidable crew. P@IN which is my guild fields a pretty good crew now. We have quite a few returning players to the game and weve been working on getting those guys upto speed as well as getting teamwork and timing down.

The nox/fencer temp is a viable one though you may or may not find it hard to keep on your target to get the kill shot. Dexer's are a tough build to play in the chokes as well. Walling you in and trapping are a big part of the faction scene at the moment. A guy like Necro is a master at it and there are others who are very good as well. Your temp will play into there hands if your out numbered. In factions you can expect to be out numbered because stat loss as well as losing punkte is a beeacth. if you see Ice Cream Man in the field ask him to duel you on the temp. He runs it as well as anyone i've seen and i used to run the same build as well. We use to joke that you have to run the nox/fencer like he just escaped from an insane asylum.

Good luck in whatever you decide but i'd say give it a go.

And take any/all smacktalk like a grain of salt. Don't mind it. And just learn from mistakes. You'll have fun :)

amen.

especially if you kill the o.j. he's got nothing better to do for 20 minutes than run his mouth.

yeah... you only killed me because you spammed spell plague, or blood oath, or disarm, or bleed, or mortal.

you only killed me because you're a thrower. if you were a real PvPer you'd be a mage.

you only killed me because you're a myst mage. if you were a real PvPer you wouldn't be myst.

actually, if you were a real PvPer you would only have 500 skill points and then you'd NEVER be able to kill me because I'm the best ever!!!! :eyes:

I've played a couple times here. It can be fun.

I have a TB character (Not "With" anyone though) and so far, Minax needs help the most. They would be the underdog.

But either way you go, you'll have fun. Like Bom said, smack talk can be weeded out. If you die, rez, supply back up, and while waiting out stat, think of your weakness and how to make it stronger.

This is a pretty awesome thread. All of the participants have given decent replies, and three of them were from three of the factions. ( i Salute each of you) I just wanted to throw this out to the OP, if your going to play on an underdog tag know that each of the four factions have a guild in which dominates that faction. what ths may mean to you is you will find yourself quite often being forcast as member of this guild. A good example is that Tread and I have a tiny guild which is registered in (CoM), often players imediately assume that we are in the LD guild. This is not a problem consider that one oj is an oj no matter the guild he belongs, however the guild that dominates your faction is not imediately your "freind" just because your in the same faction. There are several chars out there with multiple accounts and multiple factions, and if they are more invested in a paticular guild, you may find yourself getting set up for the " Okey- dook" buy a gentlemen(or lady) you thought was on your side. Take yeild as you enter in the fight. also until other factioneers know your char plan on a little same faction killing. My bro and I learned the hard way that sometimes your name gets called out even if your the same faction ( it really has to do with understanding that these guys, whom ever, just dont know you so the unknown is sometimes just a variable they are not willing to entertain)

That being said dont get get discouraged. factions is fun. If you find yourself too often being the guy on the bottom looking up ( not sexual i assure you) you may want to seek out persons in the same faction and talk to them. A group of lone wolves (non guild affiliated) makes a pack of wolves, and a pack of wolves can be fun and sometimes even devistateing. I belive factions more than anything else causes people to form frendships and comaraderie.

Play on brother i look forward to seeing you in the fight. And if you decide its getting too frustrating, before you quit the factions look me or tread up and maybe we can roll together some.:pint:
