But why oh why do the ingredients have to come from paragon monsters? More crafting items I will have to forgo because I will not be able to kill the monsters nor am I willing to pay what exorbitant prices the ingredients will surely command on vendors.

Or, to put it another way, "Darn it, Jim, I'm a chef, not a paragon killer!"

mmm...back at the very first day of tribal berries for savage paint...I stood with my cook at the bank spamming will make paint for cost of 2 berries...so I got one resource for myself and one used to make the guy's paint. Then I could make my own paint on the side and sell that too for the usual marked up first-day prices...I made a LOT that day...went for like 6-8 hours straight

True, but there is a away around that.

Not everyone has a chef and those of us that do will be in demand for a bit. You could do business for people who do have the ingredients. Charge them a fee for your services.

Great minds think alike!

It's a great way to socialize and even bring some RP into your game if you like.

Now, I wonder if this is going to be a temporary addition or permanent?

Wondering that, too. As firecrackers are being removed as special loot, and pumpkin spawns, will the chocolate ingredients be removed from paragons once Valentine's is over? Either way, I hope they stack for stockpiling.

took me 5 hours to make one chocolate (getting all 4 ingredients was unlucky for me)...its the same graphic as the free ones found in everyone's gift box

I'm taking my disgusted butt to bed now.

Did the same thing Vol. What a disappointment. For as much trouble as getting the ingreds is, they should be different. I can understand why they made the gingerbread cookies the same the ingreds were readily available. But man, for all that work it is a let down.

PS I'm sending in a feedback form and I suggest everyone not happy with this do the same.

no kidding...I wasn't really expecting a big WOW like a choc bunny...but...man...even an ingot graphic woulda sufficed, ya know? An open box of brown dots? Something?

Has anyone been able to MARK their chocolates yet?

Skill requirements:

Dark Chocolate: 15 Cooking
Milk Chocolate: 32.5 Cooking
White Chocolate: 52.5 Cooking

So it looks like anyone with a bought skill should be able to make chocolate.

Before we get too excited, might want to look here for a bit of reality, as explained by Voluptuous.

Like so much of UO these days...nice ideas + hope + poor implementation = player disappointment.

Hopefully they see the light before this makes it to live publish.

Earlier from the House of Commons chat: (my bold)

Brannoc - *kittykat* Will gardening every get any love, like new plants, resources, or even the fabled 5th generation?
* RicTheHippy firers a stealth arrow at Draconi *
* Draconi crawls out of the hedges, having been pwned by some ninjas for earlier, unrepeatable comments *
Draconi - Well, one fun addition in the next publish will be cocoa trees, including appropriate seeds - this should go nicely with the coming additions to chocolatiering as well! (What, you thought we'd spoil everything at once?)
* RicTheHippy chortles and slips into the shadows *

This is actually a fantastic idea and would bring back some player interaction...perhaps market days could be set up around it and so on for player bartering.

I wanted to know if anyone has found out if you can decorate the chocolate with a food decorating tool? because that would be a nice addition...and maybe if only the crafted ones could be decorated it would excuse the icky re use of graphics from the gift box....I was so wanting a chocolate heart or something nice.
