This is Tide.. been away from game for lil over a year now... for those who were around i ran a crazy bushi macer if ya dont remember... anyhow.. just wanted to say Hi to my guildies and also i suppose a tip of the hat to my old arch enemies..

Parry mage is damn fine template. so many combos can be worked into it, inscribe, SW, Ninja. Plus no risk of being disarmed and runnign shot blasted by some of these new fencer/archer temps. Absolutly great template for a field fighting mage.

Oh ya, this too. But it is fair to say now tamers pets in pvp have taken a huge nerf. If the tamer is the aggro, his pets attack far slower than if someone attacks the tamer.

Fix'd ur post alittle bit Tib's. Hopefully in the near future this OP mage tactic is fix'd. Seriously, everyone else carrying anything in their hands (other than a shield), can be disarmed. Hell, even a mage carrying a shield can disarm a dexxor, but the dexxor has zero chance of disarming the mage, c'mon. Are we for real here?

Why? I see disarm as a way for removing a weapon not a defensive item. it removes spell books and mage weapons as it should. It has always been that way except once about a year ago when they screwed up and FIXED it.
My anat/eval is my disarm counter; I choose to run parry to lessen dexers attempts to hit me.

Being disarmed is the risk one carries when playing a weapon wielding template just as I take the risk of havign to stop to heal myself by playing a mage template.

Do we take the next step after that and make a mages wrestle or anat/eval combo get dropped to 0 for the duration of the disarm effect?

I see no imbalance here. I give up a bit of offence to run a very good defensive template that works well in groups. if parry mages bug folks so much, run a necro-mage, you will rock a parry mage 1 v 1.

I get sick of all these crybabies and thier gripes about mages. mages have been getting beat by the nerf stick since 99 and every nerf the good mages who stick it out learn to adapt thus causing more crys for more nerfs.

Hell lets get it over with lets cap mage casting at 1/3, require wrestle, anat, and eval to avoid being hit, and make disarm attacks automatically drop a mages defence chance to 0.

Try playing a non-parry mage against a maxed out ssi, hci dexer with allt he new cookie cutter super weapons out there and then get back to me about overpowered.

P.S.

I think a dexer shoudl also have an option to avoid disarm; make two handers and non-balanced bows disarm proof.

No intent to dis-rail; i hope he comes back. he wasa good team mate when i was in TNT and would be sure to be good competition now.

I am just surprised by this sudden cry for being able to disarm shields. Why is it dexers seem to think every time they get next to a mage they should be able to hit him?

I think Tib on the money here. There would be no harm in splitting the thread so the Parry/Mage discussion and this one can continue. Derailed threads kinda suck, but when the derail is worth further discussion or hell bent on continuing [and not in violation of the RoC], I think splitting the topic is good moderating. There's my 2 cents.
