Cheating in PVP

I see that Jeremy is online so thought i would do this. I know that a post was made and removed showing a certain guild using "unusual" programs and showing graphics that few others seem to have. (yes, there are a couple of other guilds who use said enhancments, they just don't post the proof on the stratics boards. Now the only reason i bring this is is because like all the other cheats, this has been going on for quite sometime now. The GM's are called, and nothing is done. Now here was proof positive. So now the question is Jeremy "WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT".

They are blatant and brag (with screenshots) about their cheats. It is time this comes to an end.!!!!

Also, while you are doing the round-up of cheaters, there is a vendor FF's Bow Job Factory that is sporting 8-10 inquis gloves locked down on the floor of the house in Malas. Perhaps you would like to take a look at that.

i'm not sure if there's anything they can do about the art modifications without using spyware.

GM's certainly have no way of telling for sure. a little forensic detective work can give them a good idea though but honestly i don't think they are or pay attention to details like that.

Well, i am told that the art is due to the "enhancement engines they use"

basically what this thread about is 2D art modification. it should not discourage you from coming to a US shard because i'm sure they use it on european shards too. the program to edit the UO art files is actually designed by a German I think. you don't need the program to edit the art files but it makes it a lot easier.

it replaces trees with another graphic, usually a stump or simply a box and it replaces fields (poison,para,energy,fire) with a square color tile or a static version of the field which helps people who have older computers compete with people who have newer computers. also the tile or flat field replacement makes it so you can target it a lot easier because there isn't an animated graphic of blue twinkle or wavy blues lines in your way. some people also edit the graphics for player houses making it so you can see through them and reducing load/cache time.

it is illegal despite the fact that it should really be a feature of the game built into the options in the game.

another thing to consider is when thinking of the reasons why people dislike KR you need to factor in the art modifications. people like to play the game a certain way and if that means moving to KR where there are even more graphics, effects, particles and crap flying around and confusing everything a lot of people just are not going to be interested.
