They could slip in some 'behind the scenes' changes or add in some switchable features like the option of either clients paperdoll style. The desktop spell icons not vanishing if I happen to be moving the mouse far ahead of my character to run and release the button over one would be a nice change that wouldn't affect the CC's appearance. The option of a third game window size setting like 1400x1050 being added would be a good addition that wouldn't affect the CC's look & feel. Add the option of the hotbars to the CC as a switchable option. Players can chose either one they like.
The EC doesn't thrill a lot of players. While some features of the EC are liked, the overall package hasn't gone over well with many. Both clients have their plus's & minus's. Taking the features most popular in both and combining them in a new client with a lot of switchable options to suit player preference might be the way to go. Turn on the option choices you like, turn off the ones you don't like. The Devs could look over Pinco's UI's features and see what he did that has proven so popular and go that route with a reworking of the EC which is in a programming code they like. It might make the loss in players over dropping one client a lot less painful if the players have another UI they don't really dislike to access the game with. The biggest hurdle would likely be coming up with a single set of graphics that both groups can live with.
...There is no need for a totally new client when the Enhanced Client is capable of this.

NO, the status sheet in the EC shows ALL your stats. It shows LRC, LMC, HCI, DCI, FCR, FC, etc. Pinco's UI adds even more.Can't you just double click on the status bar and get a character sheet with pretty much all the same information?
I don't recall that there is much of a difference other than one rectangle is vertical and the other is horizontal.... I could be wrong though.

So, if you love it, use it.... but no taking pot shots of people that don't like it.
I have no desire to "get with it" .... I can function well in the game, and why in the world they decided to make this new client when obviously there are financial restrictions ......... couldn't they use the funds to give more active in game support instead of just continuing to add more and more so-called perks?
The learning curve for this game is now 3-4 years..... no wonder we are losing players, top that with the difficult new client, the ongoing attempts to improve the dungeons so the newbies can no longer survive there, and the lack of timely and useful assistance when things go wrong in game, it is so evident why the client base keeps decreasing.
So many loved the traditional game of UO. We don't need "more" in game, instead, take care of the current player base as if you care.
Sorry for the vent... every now and then I just get tired of all of the attitude here.
