Change char name

If i change a char name what happens?
If that char is tha owner of a house and a coowner of another house what's happen?
The house changes the sign post?
I continue to be the owner of the house, also with another name?
But the change is also into the house sign or not?

you get one extra slot for a character. normal is 16 characters i think? so 17.
Most things in UO just update once you reuse them. may have to switch houses for all that to go thru.

After I used a name change token my character could no longer enter the abyss. I had to do the quest in order to gain access to it.

My "Owned" talismans could no longer be equipped. The talismans kept the old original character name.

I could still access all houses and retained the permissions I had before the name change, whether friend or co-owner, but the name in the house sign list did not change to the new name.

I can't remember if the name on the house sign changes if the character who placed it uses a name change token.

Are you wanting your house to have a different owner name on the sign? If so, that doesn't take a token. It's easy to do.

If you use the incognito spell on the character whose name is on the house sign and open up the house sign menu while your character has the incognito name, it will change the name on the sign for you. It will keep the incognito name on the sign until you access the menu with that character again. You can always use a different character to add friends, check storage or whatever you need to do with the house sign. That way the incognito name will remain as long as you want it to.

The abyss thing stinks. As far as the owned by talismans, try putting them in the bank over night. If they are like faction arties, the name will change.

By the way, Ivory, I looked at my house sign and it had changed to the new name.

But there is another 2 things.
If i change the name to whom have secured all my chests, i can release all if i change the name?
Akd another thing. I have a little house in atlantic. I've cancelled the char who had bought but in the sign there is yet her name
But it ìs a different case. I've cancelled the char and not changed her name.

If you change a character's name, it will still have all of the permissions/authority it had with the old name.

The character I changed the name on was co-owner to another house and she could still do everything in that house that her character could do before the name change. Her new name did not affect her ability to be able to secure or release containers or change permissions on containers that she had placed using her old name.

Everything works the same for the character under the new and old names, when it comes to housing.

When saying "cancelled" I am assuming you mean you deleted the character, is that right?

If the character whose name is on the house sign is deleted, that character's name will remain on the house sign. I don't know how you could change the house sign in that situation. I never tried. I just left the name as it was.

You might try accessing the sign with the new character you made to replace the deleted one. I don't think that would work, but you could try. Perhaps you could contact a GM about it.
