Champ Spawn Questions

Hi:

Recently my family and I have been enjoying the champ spawns at Valor & Humility. We have killed many thousands of monsters of all levels. We've taken spawns from one candle to the boss dead many many times now with a max of one or two people to help us. A lot of you probably have.

We haven't gotten a thing.

No SOTs, no replicas.

A lot of times a bunch of people will run up with greater dragons when the spawn is at its end, and kill the boss. We've got a bunch of greater dragons too, but honestly we're having more fun with our stealth mages.

Do SOTs really drop into your pack? If they do I don't get it...

What do you have to do at a spawn to be eligible for a drop? Do you have to be alive? Do you have to do the most damage, or does anyone who has worked the spawn have a chance?

You just have to kill the spawn. If you are constantly getting people at the end killing the champion, the chances of getting replicas go way down. You should have gotten at least 1 SOT if you have killed thousands of spawn monsters.

From my experience, if you are hidden (cast invisibility, using a invi potion or hidding skill) or stealthing while your Vortex/Summon/Pet is killing the spawn you will never be eligible for a SoT for those killed creatures.

You must stand visible while killing creatures and you will get a SoT soon.

Bug or feature, I don't know.

THis is incorrect. I have received Sot's while stealthed. That does not mean that the chance is diminished though. If I want sot's I go to fel and use a necro to get them however.

I have a stealth tamer. I do tons of spawns in tram and fel and do not get anything on my tamer while hidden. I like to stay hidden and let my dragon just take out spawn. I only reveal if dragon needs healing or some ghost is running around. I think that your chance is lower if your not visible but I dont know for certain. Perhaps it is similar to the anit-virtue drops where you do not get the credit if your invisible. Who knows for certain?

Thats why we posted. It seemed very odd to us too, no matter how low the rate is. We are almost always invisible. Of course we're normally alive too. Thanks so much for the help.

I as well have a stealth mage that consistently stays hidden. Casts ev's, equip slayer spellbook flame strike, etc. I have only received one scroll with this playstyle. Yet, as mentioned in many other threads, I hop on my necro (spamming Wither) or my Paladin with a great radiant scimitar (whirlwinding non-stop), I pull them in consistently. I do wonder at times if the SOT's are set up similarily to how the 10th anniversary items were. In that, if you hide/invis while your pets/summons do the damage, your odds dramatically decrease. If there are any odds at all?

It is indeed possible to get SoTs while in stealth mode. In the last couple of weeks I have had 6 of them pop into my pack as a result of casting EVs. I also found a pair of those boots in there too but have no idea when they showed up.

As a general rule I stealth around rezzing ghosts, healing, and casting. However, although I do enough damage to the boss to have looting rights, I have yet to get anything better.

I havent gotten many of the SOT scrolls myself... they seem to come very few and far between...

As for the Replicas I have gotten my share... I seem to have my best results with my mage and dexer... From what it seems like to me you want to be doing the most damage/killing before the champ spawns to have a really good chance...

A few times I have been working the spawn and didnt even touch the champ and got a replica...

I have also wondered about this, but I have gotten a couple or three SoTs on my stealth tamer. You definitely do not need to be there long to get one, because I got one on one character just moments after I arrrived and cast a couple EVs. With that said, they are few and far between. I have not seen an increased odds on my dexxer, in fact, I don't think my dexxer has gotten an SoT yet.

I would like to know what the mother (bleep bleep bleep) is going on with the spawns too! I've done 55 now.. and not one loving piece of ANYTHING! I am so frustrated.. I've been visible the whole time, done spawns in fel and tram, oak, humility, valor, tok, deceit, bog.. you name it.. I've done rats with 2 peeps from the beginnning, I've done it with a group, I've done rikktor, neira, semidar, you name it.. i've started the spawn with valor, I've come inthe middle, I've come at the end. I've use a tamer, a mage, a dexer, a bard. I've used area affect weapons and spells. I've killed the champ.. nothing!

I see the same people over and over getting drops like it was water! someone CARE to explain this? I'm so frigging sick of it!
