Is it possible to chain Nerve Strike in PvP, to prevent an opponent fighting back?

For example by running a character with low dex and high int with an SSI Bok and adding meditation, mana regen and lmc?

Does Nerve Strike prevent them healing, too?

If you worked in Ninja, too, you could open with Focus Attack on a 50 hld Bok to ensure HLD sticks, then just spam Nerve Strike repeatedly till they die?

I suppose its possible, cant see it working as sometimes they resist para.

Also, it would probably need a hite fireball or magic arrow bok to break the para before youre second hit, otherwise if i remeber right, youll get the msg the target is already paralysed.

+Good luck keeping the mana up for that!

Try it out on test. I'm sure you could get something similar to work... Not much dex is needed with an SSI Bok.

It wont stop someone from bandage healing or pot healing. But casting spells it'll sure stop them.

The issue you'll run into, even w/HLD landing, you still gotta get past their weapon skill, DCI, parry/bushido (if they have it) or mage weapon... not to mention if it's a disarmer.

That and keeping up with them. I find it a little easier chasing someone on foot than on a mount. Cuz if you miss just one NS, and they get a chase to move, you might be screwed with your NS chain attempt.

Nerve strike is like the other paralyzing shots, after you do one they won't be parad again for something like 5 seconds.

Also, they fixed nerve strike and you can now nerve strike someone that is already frozen (whether from casting or from a previous nerve strike).

I would hold on nerve strike until they are below 1/2 life, then switch to an armor ignore weapon or concussion blow.

Just come up with a possible interesting way...if you have the mana.

Ns/DS/Ns/Ds/NS/DS

That way you dont double your cost of NS and if you Deathstrike and miss your next theyll either run and take increased damage or stay still and let you NS again.

I don't think mana is a problem.

If you use a 30 SSI Bok you won't need more than say 30 or 60 stamina. So just try for maximum mana and 40 lmc.

First NS will be 12 mana (with -10 from combat skills and lmc), others after that will be 24.

Maybe NS/DS would be better, yes.

Is there such a template like that actually works in Pvp?
There is... been using it for the past few days on a prodo shard. Works wonders. Once you mana dump, if the person isn't dead, you run away.

It's more of an assassin style template than a toe to toe fighter.

Something along the lines of:

120 bushido
120 ninja
120 swords

No healing or anatomy (use confidence and potions)

Preferably med and resist but drop resist first of those two.

Almsot certainly hide and stealth (as you are relying on DS)

Is that close?

Run with a HLD, Lightning Bokuto, open with Focus to lay down the HLD then NS, DS, NS, DS etc?

There are a few variations, but that is the general idea.

Ive been working on a template like this.
120 (120 ) Bush
120 (61:'( ) Ninja
120 (120 )Swords
100 (100 )Hiding
100 (100 ) Stealth
100 Tactics (100 )
60 Chiv (60 )

As you can see all thats left to train is ninja, trying to fins some alacritys/Sot's to speed it up.
Im kinda confused since a lot of the ninja and bush moves has been nerfed over the years so i dont really know whats correct anymore.

I would love to know how DS is calculated, will i be able to do max damage DS with the setup above or do i need to tewak it some?

The more im thinking about it the more consued i get. Is it really needed to go with 120 Bushido? The only bushido moves i can get to think of that you use is confidence and nerve strike.
My suit has 4/6 casting and im running with ~100ish mana so loosing some healing power from Confidence doest really seem to matter. Do 120 Bush in someway improve your nerve strike?

Thanks in advance Lynk and the rest.

DS base damage is calculated by your Ninjitsu. From there its Base Damage * ([Hide + Stealth]/2).

To cap your DS you need to cap Ninja, hide, and stealth.

You also do want to go 120 bush. NS dmg and chance to para is based on your Bushido. Even at 120 sometimes they don't get parad by nerve. I'd drop tactics and chiv by 10 points each to take stealth 120.

Okey thanks for the fast answer Lynk. Im dropping chiv to 55 and tactics to 90, putting on my Oak Leaf shourd and raising Stealth to 120.

My suit is allrady done i just wish i could improve my ring.
Currently using a 1/3, 10hci & 6str, would be awesome with some EP.

Im really looking forward to try this out in the field, ehhh or shadows ^^.

Thanks again Lynk!

Heres what I run -

120 Swords
120 Bushido
120 Ninja
100 Hide
75 Stealth
90 tactics
80 Meditation

I was using a different Bokuto for a while that only had 10 SSI, thus the wacky stats. I normally run 40 Dex and have around 160 mana.

56 HCI
55 DCI
50 enhance pots
103 Dam Inc

All I do is hit with NS/DS/NS/LS, now if they run most times the death strike will go off just in time, and in most cases kill them. Nasty ass template, if you get outnumbered or dismounted. POOF smokebomb out and stealth away!!! Most deadly, easy template in the game :)

There is so much more to this template than just the special moves. Once people are familiar with your template they will easily live through the mana dump.

I have been playing this build for a long time now, and without giving away all of my tricks, use every possible item (consumeables and the like) to your advantage.

Also - if you NS/DS as your start to everything you will be figured out pretty quickly.. sometimes it's better to lead with a DS, then if they stand still you can pop off two nerves in a row to put the fear into them and make em run.

HeHe, completely agree with you on there being more to the template. Through in some spellweaving and a lvl 6 focus ;) ;) , shurikens...like you said the consumables. So much you can do with the temp...I love it.

I guess you could also lesser poison fukiya darts with JOAT poisoning to surprise and gain more time to kill your mark (if they curing they aint healing) .Does poison as ability and not actually spell take a oponent resist spell check?

You can buy them deadly poisoned and inflict deadly poison upon your opponents without any poisoning skill ;)

Works quite nicely to do some extra damage.

I find it very hard to keep aceptable stats when working on a temp with no healing/anat at all and relying on EP.Bushido+Ninja+Specials is a mana wormhole so i gotta use a crapload of MR and some LMC (gone as far as using orny as bracer..),stats kinda end all in the 10-35 mark for HCI DCI LMC.The ecru ring I got is kinda crappy but its very hard to find a good one(it has like 6 str 50 EP,thats it).Got like 35 DCI and thats including a 10 DCI bokuto if not goes back to 25,and HCI is at like 35.I guess a uber ecru would compensate but realistically,i am not gonna find one.. can this be worked around by specials like LS and focus strike thing? All my relevant combat skills are at 120.Dont know if runing around with 35 hci 35 dci is aceptable on such a temp, its just all offense hit and if fails run like a chicken..opinions? ways to fix?

HCI is much more important than DCI for your suit here. You need 45 HCI

My character wears Fey Leggings and Quiver for 25 DCI and

For HCI: totem +15, Gladiators Collar +10, Faction Primer +10, FC1 50EP HCI 10 Ecru... So 45 in total.

You could exchange faction stormgrip for the gladiators collar on a tighter budget.

There is no reason not to play this character in factions, since you have stealth, you can usually avoid death, so stat loss shouldn't be too much of a problem.

What is your suit like at the moment? Hard to give any more practical advice without knowing that.

Before I leaked the template on stratics I was the only one with the bushy/ninja build on GL. Now there are like 15 of these little wanna-be monkeys running around.

No longer will I give away my secrets on stratics.

I've never come across a bushido ninja. In fact, The only reason people use ninja on my server is to run away.
