Castle - ideas and improvements? (lotsa pics!)

So, I've finally had it. After 2 years of trying to decorate my castle, I've decided to ask for help here. There are some areas I'm happy with, and many I'm not. I've built, torn down, rebuilt and torn down again. I've looked for ideas on various sites and shards, and there is just a bit pot of nothing in front of me instead of new ideas...

Ah well, instead of whining I should rather start with the walkthrough, eh?

Welcome to my castle. (ignore the bag... *blushes*)

I'm not sure on the left side along the wall... the bookcases/stacked deeds look kind of weird - or is that only me?
The right side is mainly for my hon's junk - he stacked treasure chests there when he moved, and hasn't cleaned it out yet... so when he does, anything could go there (but, no ideas...).

Front left top:

Front left, fishing

Front right

Front right, witchery

Necromancer + kitchen area (yes, those necromancer cooks tend to get their ingredients through... well, not always good means)

Not sure on this, since it might be too much with the necromancer kitchen right above it - wanted to make a healer corner, however a friend saw it and said "Woah, you're right - the vampire bedroom is really scary"... *sighs*

Nothing much left and right...

My tamer's favourite part of the castle...

Shall we go downstairs?

Don't ask me why, but I just love this corner:

My main does a lot of peerless in a group and these are the collected Melisande Hair Dyes (the whispering rose is to Melisande, otherwise it wouldn't be there)

Tailor/Smithy Corner - Tailor isn't done yet, trying to think of what to add..

My hon's corner - he really really wanted to display those silly pixies...

Storage area

I'm very unhappy about this corner... the vendors are used to display the armour sets collected from peerless - any better ideas how to display them? (vendors because the sets get a special hue when combined)

Aaaand the last rooms - weapon and armour storage.

If anyone got any ideas while looking through, please share them with me!

I hesitate to suggest anything, because what you have is far better than anything I've ever done, but. One thing I copied when I saw it in the provisioner's in Zento was a rope pile. Not a single kraken rope but a stack of them either 3 or 4 high.
The vendors with armor: maybe replace the elegant armoire with the square 'decorative box', put them between the vendors with games boards on top and have a 'chess tournament'?

I like your castle! It's decorated simply and creatively without taking up a whole lot of lockdowns. Some of my favorite spots:

- the armoirs and gaza mats along the banisters on the second floor.
> Maybe you could add some tables in the chairs in the lower SW area of that room so company has a place to sit?

-I like the front balcony area with the plants and lanterns.
- Also, I like the way you have the hair dyes, and your hon's "silly" pixel stuff displayed
-I like the vampire bedroom. Creepy!

- I like how all your spaces have a theme to it. I wouldn't change much.

I think you just need to add some tables and chairs or couches for sitting areas in the lower and upper middle rooms.

I agree, Patty, always enjoy thought out themed rooms

about the only thing I would add to Patty's suggestion about seating is to swing the storage area in the bottom main floor so that it's running north/south near the center and then create the seating on the east side of that, to kind of break up that large space

There are a lot of things I really like about your castle! You put a lot of thought into the fine details and really made a lot of attractive areas. I honestly don't have a lot of suggestions. Because even tho castles are a "waste of space" in a lot of ways, they also give tons of space. So it can be hard filling it up. I'd probably try to think of more areas like little tables with chairs and a mahjong board or cups and a bottle of wine, etc. Surf google images for pictures of what people have in really large homes and mansions for possible ideas that appeal to you as far as filling up that space.

One small thing you could do that might perk up things a bit is to put all those campions you have on top of something else. I'd probably do water troughs, since now is the perfect time for them - you can make a whole bunch outta oak and then slime dye them your choice of color. And in a couple years if you decide to change decor out you have a bunch of valuable water troughs you could sell for some spare cash. :)

You could do something similar with many of your virtue/chaos tiles - probably not all of them since they aren't all out of the way, but if you get some brocade square goza mats (made from grey cloth) and raise them up to make 2x2 podiums then put the virtue tiles on top you can have nice little stands for your tiles. If you do the ones next to the water trough/plants (if you decide to do that) you'll probably want to make them the same height as the troughs.

Something else I like to recommend is more light sources. Again, it's a great time for making red and white hanging lanterns out of oak wood then slime dying them your favorite colors. I did tons of different stuff that slime dark blue color, since it looks so great, even though none of my current decor needs anything blue. I figure might as well plan for the future. =)

Thanks for the compliments. :)

Petra, the idea with the chess tournament sounds good - now only to get some chess pieces.... *laughs* Well, at least the wish will remain.

Devilsown, thanks - I'll try that!

Sarsmi, I never even thought much about light sources. *shocked* Can't believe I forgot such a vital detail.... *slaps forehead* Thank you!
I can try to dye some stuff with the slimes, although I kinda missed it so far. Thanks for the hint. :)
