The spell is behaving differently in the event area, so no. When cast next to a shadowlord(not sure the distance you need to be), it just does a lot of damage to him, probably hp percentage-based.

I think it does. I had never casted the spell before and I am pretty sure I caused a monster to get Blackrock infected later on in the day.

Choosing sides may be determined by which players are using Blackrock and which are not.

Just carrying blackrock allows you to infect creatures.

No because in order to get infected you have to drop the rock on the ground at your feet and say the power words.
To kill the SL you simply say the power words with the rock in your backpack.
Proceed with caution. Things have a tendency to become infected and chase you if you carry the rock around too long...

[/ QUOTE ]Has Draconi confirmed this?
If not, I wouldn't be so sure.

Also, even if you don't get blackrock infected, there may be other negative effects.

I did not have any on me at the time and no one else was on the same screen when the creature became infected.

There very well could have been a stealther walking around with BR in their pack. I know I have been, and have probably infected quite a bit, not to mention my stealther is infected himself.

Unless you were stealthing on Tera Sanctum last night during our spawn, no it wasn't a stealther.

Casting Armageddon against the Shadowlords causes you to get infected. It is a double edged sword. I am confident this is what is meant by choosing sides.

How do you know there wasn't an infected stealther there? I'm sure I'm not the only one.

If you need any further proof tonight I heard a couple of those system messages. Like "Good Morning [Character Name]" and another that I forget now. My character is defiantly blackrock infected. I bet by the end of the week there is going to be blackrock creatures everywhere.

So you DO get infected by casting Armageddon in dark Moonglow with BR in your pack. No cloak for me then.

'tis why I go to Moonglow on Maharia *evil grin* She infects EVERYTHING.

I ran around Dagger Isle once to see how many things I could infect...one time around and I had an army of red polar bears and walrus's chasing me, it was great! *laughs*

Should prove to be interesting later on this week.

No ...
check with Chango Pelon ... see if 'es e'rin voices ... (the naaaa linky above)
I ain't ... had a little trouble getting it to "go" ... but ... got two drops ... no voices

Not to say that Link ain't though ... mind ya ...the "infected" could be because there was some in a corpse at his feet ... when He was casting

some one could have dropped some making room for loot ...

Some one could have asked him to spell it ...
while standing on a piece .... not in the zone
ya know ...
getting ready to go in ...

gotta admit .... would make for a great "exploding cigar" type joke ...

here
pull my finger ...
